*📖REPENTANCE THAT IS COMPLETE*

👉(Reading: Acts 3:11-26)

🗓Wednesday, October 7

📜Repent, then, and return to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. *Acts 3:19 (NIV)*

📋The word repentance comes with different meanings to different people. For some, repentance means to regret about something and stop doing it. Let’s say one day I got drunk and was disgraced in public. I then felt bad about it and decided that I would not take alcohol anymore. Can this be interpreted to mean repentance? In the dictionary meaning of the word repentance, this could be right. But in the Biblical sense, repentance goes beyond just feeling sorry about the wrong one has done. It goes beyond regret to turning our back to sin and looking up unto Jesus for forgiveness. When the Apostle Peter called on the Jews to repent after the healing of the blind beggar in today’s text, he was not only calling on them to feel bad about their sins but to go ahead and turn to God for forgiveness. It’s only when our repentance leads us to Christ that our hearts can rest and can also be assured of access to the Kingdom of God. This is called godly repentance which the Apostle Paul said leads to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:8-10). Sorrow or regret does not lead one to Christ; it leads to death. Are you burdened with sin, regret or sorrow? Go to Jesus in prayer; his blood will cleanse you as you invite him into your life
