*📖A MATTER OF CHOICE*

👉(Reading: Joshua 24:1–15)

🗓Friday, November 13

📜And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD * Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)*

📋From the time of creation, God gave man the liberty to choose. Whatever one wants in this life, whether it is the profession you want to have, the food you want to eat, the school you want to attend, etc., all depend upon one thing: a choice. Today’s focus text was Joshua’s challenge he threw to the Israelites after observing their behaviour and commitment to the Kingdom business throughout his leadership. Joshua challenged the people with his own and that of his family as far as commitment to choices is concerned. Similarly, the success of our choices depends on our commitment to these choices. Choice and commitment must be individual issues as Joshua rightly framed it: “Choose this day whom you will serve.” We listen to the word of God daily on the radio, TVs, in cars, market places, church services, etc. However, the onus lies with us individually to choose to obey these teachings or not. The issues of commitment to disciple our congregation members and our converts is a matter of choice. Joshua was very bold and specific in his call. He concluded, “but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” What are your choices in life?
