Ashanti kingdom is one of the biggest kingdom in Ghana. On 6th of August 2019, I visited the Ashanti kingdom with some friends. There are some many historical materials and objects.
I could have shared some pictures but unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures. You can't believe, the first television in the world is there, the first ever made fun is there probably working, the first freezer is there. The first drum but in the land is there, there so many ascents material that I have seen there. This is a very nice place. The statues of all the past kings, and their queen mothers.
Ashanti kingdom is known to be the to kingdom of gold, in fact we see many form of gold, the raw gold and the refined gold. There are some things in the kingdom that are made of gold such as, the cutlass, guns, arrows and more, to mention few.
Talking about the Golden stool which was command by the chief priest, Okonfo Anokye. The Apaka is a special furniture designed for the king and the queen mother. On an occasion day or during an occasion, the king is carried in the apaka to go round the kingdom.
Talking about the battles that they have made. We were told that the King fought a lots of battle in the olden day. That is why they were able to occupy a very big land. There is a saying in there language wo kum apim, apim beba, meaning (if you kill thousands, thousands are coming) . In there history, there is no battle they have not defeated. And there is no tribe in Ghana that they have not battle with and does not defeat them, except the Ewe kingdom. Us for the Ewe kingdom, they are known for battle.
Out of the museum, there are many ascent objects like, bell, the big tree, lion, fish pond and many other things.
A big event ground and somny natural environment.
We had a lot of fun, though we were not allowed to take pictures inside the museum, we took pictures outside. We watched the documentary video about the Ashanti kingdom, the types of King stools that they have, their meaning.
The definition of a kingdom. a state or government having a king or queen as its head. i.e the kind rules over the whole Ashanti land with sub-Chiefs. The king on the stool now is Otumfour Osie Tutu II.
A good narration. No wonder Ghana was tagged"Gold Coast" then. Oh! You made me remember my History teacher in secondary school....The man was nicknamed, "Ghana Empire". Anytime we had History class and the man was approaching, you'd be hearing "Ghana Empire"!!!!!!! from students.
