With the world civilizing, industrializing and deforestating with the speed of light,how close do you think we are to extinction?
To me I don't think we're very far from it,but I would have grown old and died by then and I wouldn't suffer the extinction period with that generation.
With the way industrialization and deforestation is going right now,I think we're heading through that path really fast and it won't take time before we get to the end and only then we'll know what we're doing and what we did in the past was wrong.
I don't know why humans love destroying without repairing or replacing. You don't know what we destroy? All right let's get over to it.
According to recent studies,the amount of trees cut down and destroyed each year,only about 10 to 20% is being replanted or replaced,now narrow that down to the next hundred and we'll run out of trees to make our furniture,timber,paper and many other things from. I pray we don't go to the museum someday to see the last living tree on earth or we say to our kids "hey kiddo,this is what trees looks like" when pointing at a picture to them on our phones.....yes!!! It could get that bad if we don't stop.
I don't know how someone sane could destroy something so important because they got so much more....a typical example of "You Don't know what you have till you lost it".
Now how would this lead to extinction you might wonder and this brings us to the next part of this article "INDUSTRIALIZATION".
Most of us would have heard this word before,if you know what an industry is,then you probably know what industrialization entails but for those who don't,let me just give a brief explanation.
An industry is a place where goods and products are manufactured from various raw materials, usually done by burning fossil fuel or other petroleum products.
Therefore industrialization is simply the act of siting industries in a given geographical area. And as I said above they carry out most of their activities by burn fossil fuels or other petroleum products.
What does the burning of fuels emit? We all know them,the many poisonous gases,from carbon dioxide to methane to nitrous oxide etc,we call them green house gases and they are the main causes of global warming as we know it,global warming is a topic for another day, our major concern here is the carbon dioxide that is being emitted that trees would have absorbed through their stomata and used used up in no time creating equilibrium in the atmosphere and right now as I'm typing this,the amount of trees available can't even cope with the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere right now notwithstanding when another huge amount of trees will be brought down in a year's time so carbon dioxide will be readily abundant in the atmosphere and oxygen supply will be less,yes it will be because trees are the main suppliers of oxygen into the atmosphere and with their numbers decreasing, oxygen supply will be decreasing too.
And with industrialization moving at a high pace,more trees will be cut down too,cause the places that are to be industrialized,used to be inhibited by trees....so we cut the oxygen providers down to provide more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.... we're just intelligently foolish beings.
And carbon dioxide is a highly radioactive compound that can cause heat,death and some really bad diseases. Imagine us having more carbon dioxide than oxygen in the atmosphere,then the whole world won't last a week unless you can pay for medical oxygen which probably only the rich can afford.
We should save trees,plant more and save lives in the future and our selves too before we head to extinction....
Yes, it won't take long before the extinction of our beloved trees. I can visualize the faces of our kids looking into its picture with great awe. When will our eyes be opened and realize that we are killing ourselves through killing this trees? Few years from now we will be using face masks permanently.😔
