Will the Next Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT Please Stand Up

CryptoDads, Lazy Lions, CloneX – is it going to be one of them?

Bored Ape Yacht Club completely reshaped the way NFT collectors interact with their favorite communities. With an unmatchable roadmap and heaps of utility, the collection has one of the strongest communities in the space. But contenders are rising to replicate its success. In this overview, we’ll take a look at three up-and-coming PFP NFT collections that have taken the Bored Ape Yacht Club approach to the next level.

With the huge wave of interest NFTs have seen in the past couple of months, new collections are spawning on a daily basis. While most of them put up ambitious roadmaps with a lot of utility, only some manage to stand out and grab the community’s attention. The three collections we’ll be looking at are in their early stages of development, however, they have already built a solid following. There is no way to tell if they’ll successfully complete all milestones in their roadmaps, but for the moment, things are looking bright.

CryptoDads

CryptoDads is a collection of 10,000 PFP avatar-style NFTs. Each dad has a combination of several different traits that are selected by an algorithm. The idea behind the collection was to create a community for all the dads out there. The CryptoDads collection launched in early September, with a mint price of 0.07 for each CryptoDads NFT. Less than a month later, the floor price for one dad has already jumped to 1.1 ETH.

The collection has already attracted more than 31,000 followers to the official Twitter account, and more than 66,900 Discord members. The community behind this project has rapidly become one of the most active groups on Crypto Twitter.

One of the main drivers of interest for CryptoDads is the detailed roadmap that includes a lot of utility for dad holders. First and foremost, the roadmap details two subsequent NFT collections that will be exclusively available to CryptoDads owners. CryptoMoms are expected to launch soon. CryptoTodds will only be available to mint if the wallet already contains at least one mom and one dad.

Aside from subsequent collections, CryptoDads has already accomplished part of its roadmap milestones. The most significant so far is a $30,000 donation to a Men’s Health charity chosen by the Discord community. There are a number of other initiatives in the works, like a prize draw in which one CryptoDad holder in the US will receive a Ford Raptor vehicle. Additionally, one CryptoDad holder outside of the US will receive a Rolex watch.

CryptoDads have also managed to attract the attention of celebrities. According to an announcement post in their official Discord, Mike Shinoda owns a dad. You can check out his wallet in the links below. Additionally, the Dads devs released an honorary collection, and Steve Aoki is part of it.

The combination of a rapidly growing community, an enticing roadmap, and several celebrity endorsements have boosted CryptoDads among the top of PFP NFT projects. Lazy Lions

Lazy Lions is a collection of 10,000 PFP NFTs. Each Lazy Lion is unique and programmatically generated from over 160 possible traits, including clothing, mane, expression, and more. The mint price for a Lazy Lion NFT was 0.05 ETH, while currently, the floor price for buying one of these on the secondary market is 2.69 ETH. Lazy Lions launched on August 6th, and in a little under two months, the collection has already attracted a sizable community.

Currently, Lazy Lions has 31,700 Twitter followers, and upwards of 33,500 members in its official Discord channel. One of the main drivers for this user retention rate is the project’s roadmap. At the time of writing, the team behind Lazy Lions has already achieved 3 out of the main 5 milestones in the roadmap. The collection’s dev team has already launched a community wallet and created a private Discord for owners.

Interestingly, one of the most important milestones is the Lazy Lions Bungalow NFTs. All Lazy Lion owners are entitled to a free (pay gas only) Lazy Lion Bungalow for each of their lion NFTs. The mint for Bungalows is Live now . All Bungalows have their own traits, and consequently rarity levels. At the moment, the floor price for a Lazy Lion Bungalow is 0.095 ETH. Importantly, Bungalows that are not claimed until the cutoff date for the mint will be burned and lost forever, increasing the rarity of ones that make it to the secondary market.

In the future, Lazy Lions is also expected to launch a play-to-earn game centered around the kings of the savannah. Lazy Lions owners will be able to participate in the game and earn rewards when winning.

CloneX by RTFKT

Last but not least, we have CloneX by RTFKT. This is a rather interesting project, as the collection has not even dropped yet. However, it is already attracting a lot of attention. The already established RTFKT community is the main driver behind this. CloneX should launch in mid-October. However, the RTFKT community is already buzzing with excitement for the PFP collection. Currently, the official RTFKT Twitter account has more than 75,000 followers.

Interestingly, CloneX has a pretty high entry threshold. This might also be considered a factor behind the increased attention from the RTFKT community. In order to take part in the presale mint of Clones, users will have to register their Metamask wallet with RTFKT and own one other RTFKT NFT. however, most of them have floor prices above 10 ETH. Consequently, interest in CloneX is predominantly coming from collectors who are already part of the RTFKT community.

The CloneX collection will consist of 20,000 NFTs. Avatars not redeemed in the pre-sale will be deployed into the public sale. All NFT traits and attributes will be generated randomly and revealed after the public sale. The announced mint price for pre-sale CloneX NFTs is 0.05 ETH. For the moment, there is no official information about the public sale mint price. However, the sale will be completed in a Dutch auction style. This means that collectors will be able to bid and outbid each other for the right to mint a CloneX NFT.

Interestingly, there still isn’t a clear roadmap for the CloneX collection. However, the huge wave of interest from the RTFKT community is more than enough to predict a successful start. Some Discord members even say they don’t really need a roadmap, as long as they can be part of the community.

DappRadar will continue monitoring CloneX as the official launch gets closer. RTFKT is a huge name in the NFT industry. Their first PFP avatar collection will no doubt generate a lot of traction. While the company has already infiltrated the fashion space, PFP is still not something they’ve done, so it will be exciting to see how this goes. Bored Ape Yacht Club remains a leader

While each of these three collections has the potential to become as big as Bored Ape Yacht Club, surpassing it would be hard. BAYC is definitely a leader in terms of the use cases it brings to its holders. Not to mention that the project has been pretty consistent in following its announced roadmap.
