Dorofi is a very small town that is located on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba state. It is in the Central Eastern part of Nigeria and is forty kilometres away from the Sardauna Local Government Area Headquarters known as Gembu. It is located on Nigeria's border with Cameroon Republic.

Dorofi has a temperate climate of 17.5 degree Celsius ( 63.5 degree Fahrenheit) which is around the same temperature as Maldives, a country located in South Asia.

What is the major occupation of the people in Dorofi?The people of Dorofi majorly engage in small scale farming down the hills, and cattle grazing up the hills. There are plantations of Eucalyptus which is used for building materials and also as a source of energy for domestic work and warming during the cold weather.

Also, since Dorofi is on the border close to Cameroon, buying and selling and currency exchange is quite common among the people.

What is the population like in Dorofi?The population of Dorofi is estimated to be around five thousand (5,000) which consists of men, women and children. About ten percent of that population are graduates who have jobs in various institutions among the country. There are also young people who decide to further their education in Dorofi.
