True or False: True Love Waits?

How can you tell that you are in love?

Does true love wait? 

For us to believe if true love really waits, we must understand first what love really means. How is it different with admiration or infatuation?

Well, no one can really tell or explain what love is. It is beyond words and so hard to explain. Does it even have an explanation? I don’t think so. Even dictionaries are vague about its meaning. Maybe because love varies with different forms. Like it is not only about a romantic relationship between a man and a woman.

It could be a love for family and friends. Who doesn't love their family anyway? We may argue most of the time but we knew well that at the end of the day we would still be grateful that we have them.

It could also be a love for the environment. Or a love for animals and our pets. Some people naturally have love for their plants and pets like they already treat it as a friend or companion or a family. My Mom for example, she loves her plats so much that she’s always talking to them every day. I even doubt it if she would choose me over her plants.

Aside from that, there is also a love for mankind. Like those our saviour Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself just to save mankind. Or those people who are willing to risk everything, even their lives just to save others, such as those police, soldiers, or even just those simple citizens who care. I salute to all of you.

I also believe that there is more than one way to express love. For me, love is the thing that gives us both happiness and pain. It makes us selfless and it will surely teach us the most valuable lesson in life.

Does it wait?

For me, Yes. It's true. True love waits, at least that’s what I believe. True love waits no matter how far or how long it takes, it will wait. Because if it doesn’t, then it is not love. You may either call it love but it is likely that you just like the feeling but not the waiting. You just like the idea of being in love but you can’t compromise for the one you love. Maybe you probably love that person but it is not the kind of love that will wait for uncertain things. Because the kind of love that could wait is the love that will surely last.
