Many locals think that there is an evil force in the place. This has led to a series of mysterious disappearances and deaths.

Mysterious forest Bennington Triangle

Many believe that the first mystery of the area began in 1892. At the time, Henry McDowell, a local drunk, killed Jim Crowley, a factory worker. At trial, McDowell was declared insane and sent to Waterberry Asylum, but before that he escaped from prison. He was no longer found.

Entrance to the Bennington Triangle

About 30 years later, one mysterious event after another began to unfold. There have been a number of missing persons in the Bennington Triangle between 1920 and 1950 that no search team or investigating officer has yet been able to uncover. Let's find out how these missing persons happened one after another.

The first incident

The first incident that erupted in the Bennington Triangle was many years ago, on November 2, 1945. Midi Rivers, a 65-year-old guide, went to the mountains with four hunters to hunt. On the way back with the team, Rivers came close to Long Trail Road and Route 9 and went a little ahead of his companions. Since then, his companions have not found any trace of him. Suddenly he disappeared from the place. Later, a team of local police and volunteers conducted a combing operation, but they did not find Reverse's body.

The second incident

The next incident happened about a year later. December 1, 1948. Paula Welden, a 17-year-old student at Bennington College, ran into a forest in the Bennington Triangle for a long trail. Many of his acquaintances have seen him go through the forest. But he never came back from the jungle. A reward of up to 5,000 for information leading to his capture was found. Even the help of the FBI is being sought. But somehow he could not be found. However, rumors are circulating that Paula may have moved to Canada with her boyfriend. Another idea was quite prevalent at the time, and that was that Pala had chosen the secluded jungle to live a solitary life in the midst of nature. But no real evidence was found.

The third incident

The third incident occurred 3 years later, on December 1, 1949. James E. Tetford, a veteran military man, took a bus from St. Alban to Bennington to visit a relative. There were only 14 passengers in the bus. But after the bus reached the destination, it was seen that James was not on the bus! According to bus passengers, the bus did not stop anywhere. But when the bus started from St. Alban, the passengers, including the bus driver, saw James sitting in his assigned seat. When the bus started moving, he never got up from his seat. Again some passengers reported seeing James asleep until the station before the last stop. But none of them could tell where James was lost. Strangely enough, James's wallet filled with his luggage bag was found lying in his seat.

The fourth incident

The next incident happened to an eight-year-old boy named Paul Jepson. One morning on October 12, 1950. Jepson was with his mother, feeding the piglets at the time, and Jepson was running around the house. After an hour, the mother came home and found that Jepson was nowhere near the house. Jepson wore a red jacket, which was visible to everyone from afar. But the search team could not rescue him even after searching a lot.

The fifth incident

Just 17 days after the Japson incident, on October 26. Frida Langer, 53, and her cousin Herbert Elsner set out for camping near the Somerset Reservoir. Frida suddenly fell into the water while crossing a small stream. Her clothes got wet, then she told Herbert to wait a bit. Frida returned to camp to change clothes. Seeing that he was not coming after a long time, Herbert returned to the camp. But Herbert came to the camp and did not find Frida.

The area is well known to Frieder, making it almost impossible for him to get lost in the daylight. A massive search began again. For two weeks, a five-member search team of 300 investigators, ranging from helicopters and aircraft, searched in various ways, but Frieder was nowhere to be found. Oddly enough, one year after the incident, on May 12, 1951, Frieder's body was found lying near Somerset Reserve. But an autopsy did not reveal the exact cause of death. However, Friedai was the only woman whose body was found.

Why is this disappearance happening one after another?

Many paranormal experts have presented their views on this. Native Americans consider the area around Gloucesterbury Mountain to be a 'cursed land'. In the opinion of a section of the first Europeans who settled in the area, a strange glimmer of light was often seen in the sky behind the mountains. There is an intoxicating smell floating in the air and sometimes strange sounds can be heard. According to some locals, a huge giant animal lives in the forest. This animal is suddenly attacked by explorers.

According to many paranormal experts, the real known three-dimensional world in space is constantly changing, causing anyone to get lost in this world. Again, according to many, animals from different planets are located in the Bennington Tangle Forest, which is why these abnormalities are happening. Another view is that a serial killer has settled in the forest, he is responsible for all these murders. If this is true, then a question arises as to why no trace of so many murders has been found. Why no body was found except one. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person.

1. All the killings took place at a particular time. Why doesn't something like that happen at other times of the year than winter?

2. These disappearances occurred between 1942 and 1950.

3. No trace of anyone other than Frida was finally found. But how Frida disappeared from her tent is a mystery.

4. The search team searched for Frieder but did not find him. But a year later, his body was found at the place where he disappeared, which is a big mystery.

5. Frida and River were both elderly and the area was at their fingertips. So it is impossible for them to get lost at once.

. The other two victims, Weldon and Jepson, were wearing bright red jackets. As a result, they can be seen from afar. But no clothes were found on them.

. Again, Weldon and Tradford disappeared on the same date three years apart, which is quite a coincidence.

Before 1936, the area was quite populous. But in 1938, a natural disaster and epidemic broke out in Gloucesterbury, killing many people. At that time the city was abandoned. According to a 2010 census, there are only eight residents in the area. Today it is known as the haunted city.
