Oedipus, a cursed king

That was a long time ago. Lewis and his queen Jocasta were then kings of the kingdom of Thebes in Greece. They were living happily and peacefully in the kingdom with their subjects. But they have only one grief - they have no children. There is nothing that the king and queen did not do to have children, but nothing is happening. One day the minister came to the king and informed him that there was an old temple outside the state, there was a devotee there. If you take his blessing, the desire of the mind is fulfilled. The king ran away with the queen. The queen begged the devotee, ‘I have everything, but this life seems to have failed this survival, when I think I am useless.’ The king said, ‘If I had a child, my reputation would grow. To the people, the name is very tight. If I had a son, I would have inherited it. 'Hearing all this, the devotee said,' Son, a child is not only a cause of fame, but also a child by ruining the reputation. 'Before the devotee's speech, the queen said, I will build as. You give me a child for anything. The devotee closed his eyes and smiled softly, saying, 'Go back. 'The king and queen came back. The queen became pregnant a few days later. Gave birth to a son. The maid came and told the king the good news, ‘Your Majesty, you have become the father of a son.’ The king was very happy. But at once a prophecy came to the king, ‘O donkey! Shunlinato all about the saint! This son will kill you and make your queen his own queen. 'The king got angry when he heard this. Son who does not need! He snatched the baby from Jocaster Cole. Then he handed it to the executioners, 'Take him. Take him to the hill and kill him and throw him on the other side of the hill. 'The executioner took the child. The child laughed and wanted to play with the mustaches of the executioners. The executioners fell in love with Maya. Ah! What an innocent child! But if you don't obey the king's order, you will kill him. He did not kill the child but rolled it down the hill. ‘If there is life, live, if there is death, what else do I have to do!’ The executioner thought to himself. Then went back.

The kingdom on the other side of the hill is called Corinth. A shepherd came to ride a sheep at the foot of the mountain. Suddenly heard the baby crying. Go and see a child wrapped in cloth. The baby's legs were swollen when he saw it in his lap. The shepherd named the baby Oedipus. The word ‘Oedipus’ means swollen legs. However, the shepherd took the child to the king of Corinth. The king of Corinth was Polybus. And his queen Meropir. They also had no children. He adopted Oedipus as his own child. He thought God had heard their pleas, so he sent a baby boy.

Oedipus grew up knowing King Polybus as his father and Queen Meropir as his mother. Lots of force on the body of young Oedipus, sharp intellect on the head. One day a drunken friend sat down with Oedipus and said, 'Oedipus, your parents don't look like you. Your skin size is not like theirs. Honestly, who are your parents? '

The matter entered the head of Oedipus. He went to his mother and wanted to know. At first the mother did not agree to tell, but later thought it should be true. Oedipus was told everything. He was actually found at the foot of the mountain. ‘I have no birth identity!’ He thought. Oedipus left the kingdom in grief. He kept wandering in the forest-hills-mountains, running from state to state.

As he walked, he came to the entrance of a narrow mountain path and saw an old man sitting in a chariot. His chariot is standing all the way. Oedipus told the old man to move the chariot but the old man refused to move the chariot. Oedipus got angry and started arguing. The old man threatened him, ‘You know who I am!’ Blood rose on Oedipus ’head. Sarosh punched the old man and said, "You don't need to know where you are from!" Then he continued on that path. But Oedipus did not know that this old man was his father King Leas. And he is advancing towards his native Thebes.

The fact is that a strange creature came to Thebes with a head and breast like a beautiful girl, wings like a bird and the body of a lion. This monster is called 'Sphinx'. He would sit at the main gate of Thebes and call people every day and then ask a riddle. If he could not answer, the demon would kill and eat him. The people of Thebes are in agony. In the meantime the king was called that day. The king was fleeing in fear. And on the way we met Oedipus, then a quarrel, the death of the king due to Oedipus' blow. This is the fact.

However, when Oedipus reached the main gate of Thebes, he was confronted by the Sphinx. People were watching from behind. The Sphinx asked, ‘Can you answer a riddle? If not, I will eat you. 'Oedipus wanted to know,' What's the matter? '! That's the man. People crawl in childhood, that is, they walk on all fours in the morning, youth means they walk on two legs in the afternoon and in the last age they walk on three legs with sticks. '

The Sphinx was reduced to ashes by the correct answer. The people saw a young man burning the sphinx with strange magic. They came and hugged the young man. Taken to the state palace. There is no king. They thought the king had killed the Sphinx. Then they made Oedipus king and married the widow queen in a grand ceremony.

The prophecy came true.

Mother and son do not know each other. Their married life resulted in the birth of two sons and two daughters. Their day was going well. But soon there was a terrible epidemic in Thebes. Hundreds of people are dying in the epidemic. According to the people, King Oedipus rushed to the temple. The prophecy is heard again, ‘There is a man in Thebes who has killed his father and cursed this kingdom by marrying his mother. The epidemic will not stop until he leaves the kingdom. This crisis will not end. '

Then the king finds Oedipus and sees that he is a cursed man. After uncovering all the mysteries, Oedipus raised his eyes and left the throne of the kingdom of Thebes in a distant forest. And Queen Jocasta committed suicide out of grief and shame.
