A city in southeastern Texas, seat of Bee about 80 miles southeast of San Anthonio. It is a trade center of farming and ranching area that is also noted for oil and gasproduction. Beeville was founded in the 1830's by Irish setlers. The city was incorporated in the 1908. It has the council and city manager form of government. The city's industries produce oil field equipment, soft drinks, mattreses, brooms and feed for livestock. Beeville has a municipal airport.
