Chapter One.
As usual the weather remains unpredictable, even using the forecast, sometimes it doesn't work out as shown, looking at my room mate as she keeps on talking actually was getting on my nerves but what can I do? She is so far the only person in this planet earth I can tolerate being around, that is aside my parents but I rarely see them these days it's like they have forgotten my pitiful existence. "....so are you going this year?" Sheila asked with a scrunched up expression, probably just figuring out the fact that I wasn't even listening.
"Eh....I don't know , you know I don't do well with crowds....I....let's see how it goes..." " That's what you always say Lily, you know you might never get over your fear of crowd if you don't attempt to..." Sighing Sheila drags her bag towards her bed and begins to fold in clothes all the while murmuring .
"How long will it be at the camp? " Lily asked reluctantly, even though she might not attend this year's camp with Sheila, she knows that the only way to make her calm is showing a little interest. Sheila always goes to a certain church or like she calls it spiritual experience camp meeting. I have never been there but from how excited she always sounds every year in going, can leave a good imagination to ones mind about how good it was.
" Lily this year is a good year I can feel it, you know five years I have been going to this meet I have never been chosen to go in the inner sanctum this year am been chosen with the option to bring a friend or family I chose you cause you are my best friend" looking at Lily with her well practice puppy eyes she walked towards Lily holding her hands with that expression still in place..." Please Lil say you will come, we will be given our own rooms you can choose to be in your room if you don't want to come out, just come with me so I don't feel lonely "
" Ah Sheila you sabi worry person Sha oh" knowing I have already made up my mind just made me more irritated. "Ok ok ok I heard you, let me start packing up my things then".
" Yay! Thanks girlfriend I promise you will not regret this" how cheeky of her she can say that to my face when I was already having "I regret already" expression on my face.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
"Everyone please step into the line in an orderly manner first come, first serve" a short fair skinned lady announced as people came out of the bus.
Holding her bag tightly Lily looked around already feeling irritated with the crowd and the start of a painful migraine pounding on. If things continue this way she might end up spending the three weeks hospitalized, she discovered her phobia for crowds when she went to a crusade program with her parents at the age of seven, it first of all started as intense sweat then a painful migraine which affected her eyes to the point she could hardly open them, then as people kept on touching her she kept on having flashes of images she couldn't understand where they were coming from, the next thing she woke up three days later in the hospital. Doctors couldn't understand the words of a seven years old so the chucked everything as her having acute fear of crowd, suffice to say in 18 years she hasnt been in tight places with so many people packed together .
"Lil are you okay, you are sweating.... Why don't we go seat over there we can tell those in front of us to reserve our spot for us ....okay...hold on" As Sheila went ahead to reserve their spot Lily staggered a little walking towards the chair which was a little off from the crowd at the corner of the park....."ah excuse me" her eyes already throbbing she slammed into a person...man, woman? She could hardly tell well except the person was hard all over...man it is then.
"Are you okay? Come have a sit over here"
" Don't....please don't touch..." She barely finished her statement...but the man already held her arm to the chair at the same time she felt like she was submerged in ice instead of the boiling sensation she was feeling before her eye sight became clearer. Taking a good look at her saviour her eyes bulged out as she saw he was a foreigner, a young handsome white man with hair cut low and a black shade on top his head , he too was staring at her with his blue green eyes full of concern. " Do you need anything, maybe water it will help cool you down, it quiet hot today" Taking her bags he place them under the chair for safe keeping and sat beside her .
"What's your name ?" Lily blurted out surprising both of them.
"Kiaris Jackson... What's your name?" He asked with a smile.
"Lily Emeka....thanks for helping me...my friend is on her way".
