The Nigerian Bakery Association has warned Nigerians that the price of bread will rise by almost 50 percent.

TheCable quoted the head of the Lagos State bakery, Raji Omotunde, as saying that the prices of all bakeries had increased as a result of the cholera epidemic.

He said at present, the bakery companies are baking bread at a loss rather than a profit.

According to him, a bag of flowers that used to sell for N10,500 in the past, is now selling for over 13,000.

He said a bag of sugar was selling for between N19,000 and N20,000, up from N14,000 before the corona plague.
