I want to bring you back to the last verse of Matthew 6. It says: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. —Matthew 6:34 Do you know why God doesn’t want you to worry about tomorrow? It’s because He wants you to enjoy today. There is nothing wrong with planning for events, making preparations, and taking the necessary steps to budget and to save for your future.
By all means, be led by the Lord to plan ahead. But you can do it without being worried about your future. When He gave manna to the children of Israel, He gave it to them daily Ex. 16:4 .He doesn’t give you tomorrow’s bread today. He only gives you sufficient supply for today. Don’t try to live next week today. There is no supply and grace for next week today. There is only grace for today. When tomorrow comes, He wants you to look to Him again for the supply.
In other words, the Lord wants you to live one day at a time. Don’t wait for only special occasions, like birthdays, to celebrate your love for your family—celebrate and love them today. Don’t worry about the future and ask, What if? or live in the past by regretting and saying, If only.Neither one is living in the present. God supplies you with abundance today and I promise you this: When tomorrow comes, tomorrow will become today. Enjoy to the fullest the grace that He has for you today.
