Bartomeu's condition for resignation was that Messi had to publicly state 'the president is the problem'. However, he also had stated that the current board will continue even if he resigns.

The claims made by the Barca president seems to have put Messi in a difficult position since he apparently does not want anything to do with the presidential elections.
