Brazil cancels mangrove protection policy

Hello Everyone how are you? I am fine. In Brazil, the policy has been repeated to protect the endangered ecosystems of mangrove forests and coastal areas. The government of President Jair Bolsonaro made the decision last Monday. However, environmentalists have criticized the move, calling it a "crime."

A "permanent protected area" was created in 2002 with tropical and subtropical forests along Brazil's mangrove forests and the Atlantic Ocean coast, AFP reported. With the repeal of that order, the 'permanent protected area' was canceled. Environmentalists say the government's decision puts these forests at risk of extinction.

The decision was made at a meeting of Brazil's National Environmental Council on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Ricardo Sales, the government's environment minister.

Mario Mantovani, head of the environmental group SOS Mata Atlantic, said the forests were at risk due to various measures taken by physical infrastructure companies. A minimum of protection was provided through the 2002 policy to prevent further deforestation. He described the move as "anti-social".

The environmental group Greenpeace said in a statement following the Brazilian government's decision, "We are witnessing a massive environmental catastrophe. Forests are also burning in Brazil. Sales has dedicated itself to further destroying the country's forests."

According to the BBC, mangrove forests play almost the same role as the Amazon rainforest. Mangrove forests of the same size absorb about the same amount of carbon per acre of the Amazon rainforest.

We all have to take different steps to make the natural resources merciful. If you like my post
