Good evening, everyone. This is @Eirolfeam2.

So for tonight, I am going to share to all of you a project of the Local Youth Development Office of the Local Government Unit of Pagudpud here in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. This project is spearheaded by the head of the LYD Office himself, Mr. Patrick John Quitoriano.

This project came out of his entry for the photo contest of Senator Imee R. Marcos.

His entry goes like this:

"When most of us complain about our travels, slow internet connections, no allowance and a lot more rants of today’s crisis, there are these people like the Taguicana Family who have no choice but to go on with life and continue their children’s studies regardless of the pandemic.

I have chosen this photo not just to compete with manang Senator Imee R. Marcos‘s photo competition, but let this be a message of hope and compassion for everyone. They don’t have electricity, internet connection, gadgets, and stable work to suffice their needs, but life must go on for them. This pandemic made me realize one thing. IF YOU THINK YOUR LIFE IS HARD, THERE ARE THOSE WHOSE LIFE IS EVEN HARDER.

Let this pandemic be an eye opener to the government and to every Filipino out there. Continue studying for your dreams, and continue life regardless of how hard the problems and obstacles you may encounter. Compassion and determination will help us make through these challenges pandemic has brought us. #IMEElarawan #IMPhotocontest #IMEEsolusyon"

He isn't hoping for his entry to win, rather he wants to make it as a way for this family to have a better house. The family has 4 children, and their house is only made up of wood and no concrete materials, and is almost a total wreck.

After only a day of posting his entry, a lot of people, including me, have reached his Facebook post and was inspired and pledged to give help to this project.

He said that he is going to push for the Housing project and he would want to target 2 families. A lot of people have donated for the cause of this project already, but he is still asking for financial support or any donations for the project.

4m x 4m dimension house:

  • 500 pieces hallow blocks

  • 15 bags of cement

  • 15 pieces of size 10 steel bar

  • 15 pieces of size 12 steel bar

  • 14 pieces of 10 ft. galvanized sheet

  • 2 kilos of 2-inch nails

  • 2 kilos of 3-inch nails

  • 2 kilos of nails for galvanized sheet

  • 2 kilos of wire

For a house with 4m by 4m dimension, a budget of more or less than 25,000 pesos is needed.

On another Facebook post, he said that:

"We are targeting two families. First will be the Taguicana Family and if this succeeds, we will have the Melagracia family. And the project continues until we achieve better homes for our neighbors."

The following photos show the current state of the house of the Taguicana Family, the first family for the #HopeForAHome project.

The Hope For A Home Project:

"Out of the topic given by Senator Imee R. Marcos‘s online Photo competition, this dream making it into reality started. A family in our neighborhood is the best subject for the theme of the competition for me. Realizations came. Help from people keep on coming. With compassion, a lot pledged their support for the program. But we are still in the long process. Next week, we will be building their new home. And this is their home today. While most of us enjoy our coffee and cigar during rainy seasons, they are also busy looking for a house to go temporarily. This is why I am knocking at your doors. Send us help and we promise to continue this project until we help people who are in need all over the country. Let us bring back humanity."

The Hope for a Home Project was initiated due to the fact that most Filipinos don’t have comfortable and safe homes for their family. This is why, we knock your doors for donations to build homes for families in need. This is our first project and we aim to build more for our less fortunate citizens.

On his post, he has given his GCash account and DBP number, where people could send their support and help for the project. I chose not to include it here because this site is too public, and I don't have the consent to do it. But if you are willing to donate any amount you can, feel free to comment down below, or message me on Blue app, or just visit his Facebook account.

I have given my fair share and support for this project already, and I hope to share more in his future endeavors.

Note: if this article will receive any upvote from the random rewarder or from any of the users who got to read this article, I promise that I will donate all of the amount I will get to this project.

Together, we will light up a family's home. God bless us all.

I used to live in a house quite similar to this one.. Yung tipong, nagigising ka in the middle of the night kasi umuulan at basa ka na..

We have many rants about this pandemic given the fact that we have the basic necessities in life. Look at them. We are more fortunate when it comes to tangible things and yet we always complain. Hayss
