Djokovic in big trouble
If you're a sports lover or conversant with the news you should have been hearing about Australian open and Novak for some days now, the world's tennis champion Novak DJOKOVIC has been on the news, being on the news is not the issue here because he is the world's tennis defending champion and deserves to make the news especially now that the Australian open is about to begin and he has a title to defend
The 34 year old Serbian has been on the news for covid related issues, according to the news, Novak refused to get vaccinated before traveling to Australia for the tournament. Initially, it appeared as though Australian government wanted to give him preferential treatment and allow him participate in the games because of his status but Australia citizens protested against that because they felt the government was being unfair.
When the protest got so heated, the Australian government seized his passport and remanded him in a hotel denying him access to training and other activities. This action triggered another protest from Serbians and fans of DJOKOVIC all over the world, some people accused Australia of violating human right while others accused them of detaining the star illegally. Novak DJOKOVIC's mother continued protesting along with other fans which put Australia government under pressure to release him because they didn't go through the right process.
There were celebrations all over the world especially from fans when DJOKOVIC was released and allowed access to training and other things. However, the story took a different turn when it was discovered that the tennis star lied about his covid status and it was also discovered that he is anti covax(an anti covax is someone who is against covid vaccine), he also lied about some of his activities in December, 2021 because he once tested positive to covid and still went ahead to grant interviews, take photo shoots and also met with some children on the 18th of December, 2021.
There are a lot of questions and controversies hanging on his neck now which might lead to his disqualification and eventual deportation back to Serbia. A lot of people have expressed disappointment towards his actions even after he apologized. All eyes are on the Australian government now to either disqualify and deport him or pardon and allow him participate and defend his title in the games.
I want to commend Australia for doing the right thing, this should serve as a lesson to everyone that Noone is above the law, people should learn to do the right things and obey laws especially with regards to covid. The virus is our common enemy and we should all join hands and fight it out of the world by obeying simple rules. I love Djokovic and I'd love to watch him play and defend his tennis title but I don't want him to break the law and put other people's lives at risk to do that
We are watching keenly while we await the outcome of the verdict as the matter is already in court, I hope the right and best decision is taken at the end of the day
I am following Novak Djokovic, he is from my country. We'll see if she lets him play. I think you made a typing mistake, Novak is from Serbia, not from Siberia. It's important that I understood what you were writing 😊
