The term healthiness has never been more present in conversation circles. Everyone wants to achieve a healthier way of life for themselves and those around them. However, if the agenda is convergent, the actions recommended to achieve these objectives are often divergent.

To begin with, there are several pillars that support a healthier lifestyle - food and exercise are just a few of them. But the most interesting aspect is that there is no way to identify which has a more important role. The secret is to maintain a balance between all, and for that, common sense is crucial.

Maintaining adequate nutrition does not replace physical activity, just as exercising does not make balanced eating unnecessary. Both complement each other in terms of health and well-being results.

And when it comes to food, we have to understand it as a shared set of eating and living habits, rather than a mere specific variety of nutrients. In summary, our dish consists of food. There are rice, beans, vegetables, fruits ... The nutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats, are a consequence of our choices.

Some basic principles are well known. For example: in the daily diet, it is necessary to rely on vegetables, especially comprising fruits and vegetables, cereals and whole grain breads, beans and other legumes, in addition to nuts and seeds; by choosing locally grown, fresh and seasonal foods, we guarantee more flavor and a lower price; our sources of protein and iron (meat, poultry, eggs and fish) and protein and calcium (milk and dairy products) are important in moderate amounts; sugars and sweets, as well as oils and fats, are not prohibited, however, this does not mean that their consumption should be free. We have to drink water all day.
