The Learning Organization especially we are in Pandemic

In this article I just want to give some important details regarding The Learning Organization and what is my own perspective. I am not an Economist expert or having a broad knowledge about it. But after reading this I am hoping that I can share some of my knowledge and understanding with its reader. To begin this article there are some questions we must answer in order for us to understand what it really is.

What is Learning Organization?

Learning organization [are] organizations where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to see the whole together. Learning Organizations may develop as a result of the pressures facing modern organizations; this enables them to remain competitive in the business environment.

In our current era we are in the pandemic and many small companies were affected even though large companies were also affected. Even some expert did not predict that pandemic will hit the global economy. This become the greatest nightmare of each owner of some companies. Therefore this pandemic cannot be subdued and must be faced with courage and enthusiasm to think of new ways of how to sustain the economy of each country. Everybody struggle and facing big challenge to test the ability of us how to remain competitive especially we are in the pandemic and in new normal system.

Learning Organization will help each individual to continually increasing their capacity to produce good outcome that they really care about especially who are in the field of managing and handling staff. Knowing deeply the main core of learning organization will enhance our ability in which learning processes are analyzed, united with set of aims and goals. Imagine what will be the outcome of it, when we level up our ability and capability from a simple employee training into highest point of how to solve problem in an organization and become more innovative.

Knowing the difference between the Organizational Learning and Learning Organization

If we look at these words Organizational Learning and Learning Organization what do we think about it? Do they have the meaning or do they have differences? I just want to give my understanding that they have differences. The Organizational Learning is focuses on learning by experience and knowledge gathered from day to day activities. Meaning to say the ability and capabilities of each individual depends only on what is known and learned in daily routine or what they have experienced. While the Learning Organization focuses on learning to enhance competencies and capabilities of employees. In this matter your are leveling up your capabilities not only by experiencing from daily routine but also thinking to the highest level of yours.

What are the Characteristics of Learning Organization

  1. SYSTEM THINKING

    It has the ability to enable us to see not only what we have (current reality) but also how can we can make real and lasting beneficial change in a structure or system. As an ordinary employee or as a way for teams always looking forward for a changes that will give long-term improvements rather than the quick fix that we are thinking and eventually fails but is reapplied over and over. So what will happen if the system is just repeated and nothing change. System thinking will help us to realize that we should give the best of the best to avoid the reapplied strategy that won't work out. To understand how an organization works at its simplest level by thinking is by understanding the causal - loop diagrams to show the relationship and interaction of the component parts of the system. There is four main building blocks that System Thinking are as follows.

    First: System in which it is a set of people, regulations, machinery, and other element that works together to form a process.

    Second: Variables in which it is a part of the system that leads logically to the next part of the system.  It is an observable and measurable aspect of the behavior of the system and it charges over time.

    Third: Casual Loop Diagram that it also can indicate how they could be changed to make the system do what we need. It can show us the possible unintended consequences of applying quick fixes where we solve a problem in one area and create a bigger problem elsewhere because we were not aware of their relationships.

    Fourth: Delays which is the cause of problem and its effect can be distanced in time and space. This means that the solution and apply today seems to work.

    By knowing these building of System Thinking it will help us to analyze and understand what is the purpose of System Thinking as an individual and in our own perspective it will lead us to better understanding.

  2. PERSONAL MASTERY

    It is a process of living and working purposefully towards a vision, in alignment with one's values and in a state of constant learning about oneself and the reality in which one exists. It is a self - commitment for life time learning and life form a part of a learning organization. We should not stop ourselves to seek knowledge and challenge ourselves how to improve our capabilities. We should be more self driven to the most excellent person and be more excited for new changes and be more realistic for the future. By making yourself knowing your mastery it will have a positive outcomes that will give you the best as an individual performance, self - efficacy, commitment, sense of your responsibility, self - motivation, patience and most of all by focusing on relevant matters as well as work life balance and well - being that we needed.

DEVELOPING PERSONAL MASTERY

In able us to develop our Personal Mastery we should need to understand some factors to be considered just like the following.

VISION is a specific destination, an image of a desired future that is supported by a purpose (reason why). Our ability to persevere and to embrace the constraints and challenges presented by our current reality on our path towards achieving our vision is what characterizes mastery of the creative tension between where we are and where we want to be. We must set our vision what we really wanted in life? in work? and what is our main reason? By setting some of it, it will help us to know to understand our Personal Mastery especially if we wanted to remain in competitive.

VALUES are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. They help us to determine what is important to us. Values describe the personal qualities we choose to embody to guide our actions; the sort of person we want to be; the manner in which we treat ourselves and others, and our interaction with the world around us. They provide the general guidelines for conduct. It is very important matter that we should know and understand.

PERSPECTIVE it is an organizational perspective is the way that an organization defines the roles and the personnel that are needed and responsible for given processes within the body of the organization. By having a broad perspective it will help each of one to grow and to have a better outcome as an organization.

  1. MENTAL MODELS

    Mental models are conceptual frameworks consisting of generalizations and assumptions that affect how we view the world and act in it. These models are an important component of building a learning organization. By understanding and by means of taking a look that surrounds us or what is happening in our environment it will influence us how we understand the world and how we can take action. By observing we can develop some new ideas, some new thinking, some new techniques and strategy that we can use to improve and enhance our mental ability of thinking to create a master piece that we didn't expect. The self-reflection process starts for the implementation, where everyone has to be in deeply insight for generalization and structuring the organizations model. In additional we need to know that their are ways to alter your Mental Model the following are:

    1.     Create Alternatives

    2.     Select some new board members

    3.     Create Self- awareness

    4.     Get People to ask questions

  1. SHARED VISION

    Shared vision is an essential component of a learning organization because it provides the focus and energy for learning. The underlying force is the desire by people to create and accomplish something. According  to Peter Senge one of the author of Learning Organization that “When people truly share a vision they are connected, bound together by a common aspiration. Personal visions derive their power from an individual’s deep caring for the vision.” By sharing ideas and thoughts we are having an exchange of knowledge and can combine to create a good platform. By listening we can adapt and seek new knowledge that can help each individual to gain extra wisdom.

By knowing the Characteristics of Learning Organization it will help each individual to enhance and develop their skills, ability and capabilities. In our current situation that we are in the pandemic we are in a challenging society that we need to give our best. We need have a strong foundation in able to survive in our society and we should not base only on what we have and have an attitude of always feed ourselves of new knowledge and skills. Many lost their jobs and to remain we should know our weapons available to dive into life’s challenges. Through our eagerness and willingness to understand the Learning Organization it will give us a benefit and assurance that we can maintain our levels of innovation and remaining competitive. Everybody don't have an idea that pandemic will began and by what we have experience we are driven to create new things to adapt the new normal system especially in our working system. We are having an ideas and knowledge to better link resources to customer needs and improving quality of outputs at all levels. It also makes us to improve corporate image by becoming more people oriented and   increasing the pace of change within the organization. Strengthening the sense of community in the organization, improving long term decision making and   improving knowledge sharing.
