How important is our mental health especially when we are in a pandemic?

When the pandemic began nobody predict that it will be happen and we didn't know that it has a huge impact to our lives. We saw and felt how much it affected each of one is struggling to fight this pandemic and trying to survive. Let me give you my point of view and what do I see as a result of this in our society.

Before the pandemic started we knew that many of our countrymen were already suffering in life. And in this state of life many are already facing the hardships of life and others are already giving up on the challenges of life. How much more in the current situation of each country facing the pandemic especially in my country Philippines my fellow countrymen who are in a middle and low standard of living. The huge impact of it affects also their mental health. Mental Health is very important to us at every stage of our life. It has a major role in each individual's ability to maintain good physical health.

I am not an expert regarding Mental Health Awareness but I have a belief in other things and have a little knowledge based on what I see around me and myself how important it is for me to cope with everything. Our emotional and mental health is important and we cannot denied that it has a huge vital part of our life and what is the impact of its to our thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Having a healthy emotionally can lead us to become more productive and more effective when it comes to our daily life activities.

So, it is very important to us to take care of our mental health in able to continue our responsibility and obligation in life. Our body, mind and soul are the components for me having a strong foundation to live. But sadly to say that many of our countrymen are having difficulties when it comes to their mental health. In the current situation or experienced by our society affects the mental health of each individual. It is very difficult how can we survive especially if you are inclusive in the middle and low standard of living.

Some of us lost jobs because of the pandemic. Without any source of income and be an unemployed many are affected and driving others to fall into loneliness. Most are getting insane and lose their sanity mentally. Some of us thinking too much how they can provide the needs of their families if you see and know that many companies are also closing due to the impact of the pandemic. Not only loosing jobs affects each of us but also the other reasons why most of our countrymen are overwhelmed with grief over the cause of pandemic was many get sick and die because of Covid - 19 virus.

Because of this condition in our society many are also dying not because of Covid - 19 virus but because of extreme sadness and fear of how they will deal with this pandemic. It is important that we are also aware to be prepared and to take care of our mental health. no matter how hard our current life because of the pandemic we should increase our level of taking care our mental heath. How can we decide properly or to think more wisely to overcome the pandemic if we don't have a healthy mind, soul and body.

According to some health expert in able to keep yourself mentally healthy we need to follow their tips like we should get plenty of sleep. Even it is so hard to get sleep early due to too much thinking what will happen by tomorrow? how can we provides the three meals a day for our families? how can we survive for another day? still we need do something that can help us to sleep and let our body to rest. We should eat some healthy and nutritious food that will sustain the needs of our body. Avoiding alcohol, smoking and drugs. Get plenty of sunlight it also helps to our health. We should also know how to manage stress. Stress is a part of our life and in able to deal with it we should know how to manage it. Do some activities and exercises that can help us. Do something that brings joy and happiness even it is impossible because what did you see surrounds you but still think some reasons that will brings joy and put smile on your lips. Make a better way of connecting with other people and be sociable. There are lots of ways how can we protect and having a mentally healthy.

In this article I would have been able to give a little help to strengthen our will that we can withstand every trial in life especially in the current situation of our society. No matter how hard it comes to our lives we can still withstand with the grace of god and we should invest knowledge in ourselves so that the knowledge we learn can also be used for our own good.
