The motion of a particle is clearly described by newton's three laws of motion

Newton's first law of motion:

The law states that an object will continue in its state of rest or, if its in motion will continue to move in uniform speed in a straight line unless it is acted upon by an external force. This law is often called the law of inertia. The inertia of a body is its reluctance to remain at rest or its reluctance to be brought to rest if in motion in a straight line

Newton's second law of notion

Its state that the rate of change of momentum of a body its directly proportional to the applied force and takes place in the direction in which the force is acts.

Momentum of a particle is defined as the product of its mass and velocity

Newton's third law of motion

This law states that to every action their is also an equal and opposite reaction. When a box is placed on a table the reaction of the table on box is equal and opposite to the reaction of the box on the table.

A lift can be defined as a device used to quickly ascend or descend very tail building. Its saves times and energy. When person is inside a lift accelerating upwards. The person experience an extra weight. On descending, he appears to have a feelings of loss of weight.

The second and third laws are used to formulate the law of conversation of momentum. The law of conversation of linear momentum states that in a system of colluding object the total momentum is conserved provided there is no external force acting on the system.

For example when two object traveling in a straight line collides the total momentum before collision is equal to the total momentum after collision provided no external force acts on the colluding object.

The motion of an object under the influence of gravity is a good example of uniformly accelerated motion. All object falling under the influence of gravity fall at the same rate. This is when a heavy object and a light object are dropped simultaneously from the same height they get to the ground at the same time.

The reason is that the inertia of an object or its resistance to acceleration depend son its mass, which also determine its weight. Thus a large mass has a large weight but also large inertia, so that its falls with the same acceleration as a small mass therefore a body falling under the influence if gravity.

Alone experience a constant acceleration with value g=9.7m/S^2 or approximately 10m/S^2.this implies that when discussing any vertical motion under gravity.
