Everything on earth can be classified as either living or non living things. Living things include plant and animals which have life while non living things are things that do not have life exaole of living things include man, rabbit, elephant, monkey, sheep, dog, grass, mango tree while non living things include air, water, stone, table, house, book, pen, chair etc

Characteristics of non living things

  1. Movement

  2. Nutrition

  3. Respiration

  4. Excretion

  5. Irritability or sensitivity

  6. Growth

  7. Reproduction

  8. Asexual reproduction

  9. Sexual reproduction

  10. Adaptation

  11. Life span/death

  12. Competition

Difference between plant and animals ;

Plant and animals are living things but they till exist differences between them the difference between plant and animal are shown below

  1. PLANT: Most green plant carry out photosynthesis but non green plant cannot while ANIMALS : animals cannot carry out photosynthesis they depend on olabt for food

  2. PLANT: Growth is mainly restricted to growing regions or apical meristem while. ANIMALS: growth takes place in all party of the body or intercalary

  3. PLANT: plant are not active and have no organ of movement while ANIMALS: animals are active and have organ of movement

  4. PLANT: Plant have slow response to external stimuli while ANIMALS: Animals have fast response to external stimuli

  5. PLANTS: They possess no special excretory system while ANIMALS: They possess well-developed excretory system.

Movement: movement is defined as the ability of an organism to move its own whole body or part of its body from one place to another. Living things move in order to look for food for reproduction and to run away from danger or respond to the environment. Generally, most animals can move themselves from one place to another, while plants can only move part of their bodies in response to eternal stimuli
