A fix for cryptocurrency?
ONFO is an application-driven cryptocurrency built on a fork of the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP). ONFO’s primary innovation is Network Mining: the generation and distribution of its cryptocurrency tokens through account creation and referral rewards.
ONFO could also be considered a form of “stable coin” that seeks to regulate its relative trade value through network performance-based injections of supply to optimize the suitability of its tokens for everyday commercial use.
Tokens are pre-mined, locked in multi-signature wallets, and then incrementally
released only when a “proof of effort” algorithm has been completed upon sign-up of an additional unique user. The distribution of the token is centralized through a quorum-based consensus mechanism, but once tokens enter general circulation, the network is entirely decentralized using a Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA).
In order to prove uniqueness of an individual, the algorithm requires that the email domain validated is one of a carefully screened list of approved domains, largely consisting of established post-secondary educational institutions and large multinational corporations. Examples include @harvard.edu, @apple.com, etc. Public email address accounts (e.g. @gmail.com) are not permitted after the beta testing phase. Individuals not possessing one of the approved email address domains would be required to pass an AI-based, government issued ID authentication protocol in order to join this elite group of members. Each new applicant must sign up using the referral code from a previously validated user. Both the referrer and new applicant are awarded ONFO tokens upon
successful validation.
