SALATOL JANAZAH PARA KAY NAJASHIE
Why do you need to read this Article?
Because it is an answer to some of the opinions and questions about the Salatol Janazah for Royette Padilla in the Church, as follows:
1. Is it not right to perform Salatol Janazah within the Church?
2. Especially if there are Crosses there?
3. It is also not right to do this to him without bathing him?
4. It is also not right to perform Salatol Janaza on him that he is buried in the Coffin?
All these and other questions will be answered in this Article.
Najashie was the name of the King of Ethiopia during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), his real name was As-hamah, he was a Christian King.
When the Sahabah (ra) suffered in Makkah due to the oppression of the Pagans the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered some of them to go to Ethiopia because the King there was just and did not reject anyone who sheltered him .
And they went there under the leadership of Ja'far bin Abi Talib (ra), and that also became the bridge to reach the message of Islam in Najashie.
And when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) moved to Madinah and established Islamic law there, Ja'far (as) cleansed Ethiopia for Madinah.
Najashie embraced Islam, but; even though his men allowed him to embrace the new Religion and they remained following him as their King they did not embrace Islam like he did.
Shaikhol Islam mentioned this in Majmo 'Al Fatawa 19/21.
And because of the departure of the Sahabah (ra) from his land he was left alone with no Muslims in his kingdom.
And soon death overtook him, he passed away, and on that day the news came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) from heaven.
And since no one can perform Salatol Janazah on him, the Prophet performed it on him in the method of Salatol Ghaib.
Salatol Ghaib is Salatol Janazah for people elsewhere.
And this is only done if the deceased Muslim we know did not perform the Salatol Janazah on him.
Bukhari and Muslim state that when Najashie died, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"مَاتَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَى أَخِيكُمْ أَصْحَمَةَ."
"The good man has died today, come and pray for your brother As-hamah."
Shaikh Abdulkarim, one of the Mufties today at Masjid Al Nabawie, said:
"His staff was clearly Christians, so he was certainly not buried in the Islamic way, they certainly mourned it in the church, not bathed, also in the coffin as they were accustomed to, and many Crosses around him, yet performed The Prophet (peace be upon him) continued the Salatol Janazah because he was a Muslim and was obliged to perform it for him. "
Now, if the Salatol Janazah was performed correctly on Royette for the above-mentioned reasons, did the Prophet (peace be upon him) do the same for Najashie?
Is it not right to perform Salatol Janazah on the bereaved Muslim who has not been bathed, is in the church, and has an adjacent Cross ?! Are these Asha'irah wiser than the Prophet (peace be upon him)?
Perhaps they will say that Ustad Ahmad Barcelon performed it right inside the church! Unlike the Prophet (peace be upon him)!
First: This is why I said in the first Article I wrote about it that it is better to just say Salatol Ghaib.
Second: Salatol Ghaib the Prophet (peace be upon him) did for him because Ethiopia is so far away, you still have to swim in the ocean to get there.
Third: What is the verdict on a Muslim praying in the churches?
Omar (ra) said that if it is necessary there is nothing wrong, praying is right. If you do it because your trip is just not worth it!
Are you wiser than the great Sahabie Omar (ra)? The church has nothing to do with your intentions! The Cross has nothing to do with your intentions! Unless you worship the Cross!
And what I saw as good in what Ustad Ahmad Barcelon did was that the Christians saw that we are Firm in our belief, that we will really do everything we can only fulfill the command of Allah to the best of our ability.
