Jodhpur is one of the precious stones of Rajasthan. Located on the edge of the golden Thar desert, it is also known as the 'Blue City', as most of the houses are painted blue, near the Meherangarh fort. The bright sun irradiates the city almost every day, so the city is also known as ‘Sun City’. The city was founded by Rajput Rathore Rao Jodha around 1459 AD and is now the second-largest city in the state. Among the wide arms of the Aravali Mountains, this city is one of the best tourist destinations in the state with great forts, palaces, and monuments.

Mehrangarh Fort

Anyone who has visited Mehrangarh Fort will tell you the same thing: the time to fully embrace the masterpiece of architecture is at sunrise or sunset when the glow from the golden wall is just opposite the burning crimson sky. The combination of colors is almost incredible: the bright blue houses that surround the strong castle with the smell of incense and rose water, which is still more than five centuries old but stands 400 feet above the ground. Visit Meherangarh for the cool feeling of standing on top of history and the incredible bird's eye view of Jodhpur.

Jaswant Thada

Just a short walk from Mehrangarh Fort you will come across Jashwant Thada, an ivory marble symbol made in the early twentieth century. A spectacular monument run by the royal family in memory of the second Maharaja Jashwant Singh silences the noise of a busy city around it, ignoring a blue-green lake from a considerable height. In addition to listening to the sound of the flute from inside the temple, to the amazement of fellow visitors in the chrysanthemum cenotaph, you will hear the most in Jashwant Thada.

Flying Fox Jodhpur

You don’t have to go to the Amazon Rainforest for an air adventure - you can experience the comfort of Meherangarh Fort. The Flying Fox Jodhpur zipline tour is made up of a combination of six wires that stretch across the fort walls, taking you around the battlefields, lakes, and valleys of Jodhpur. Every flight comes with a guarantee of safety and comprehensive expertise on everything from the history of the fort to the spatial elements of Rajasthan.

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, a little-known gem located right next to the rocky expanse of land following to the Mehrangarh Fort, is an ecological restoration site that was converted into a public park in 2006. After years of negligence, the area is overgrown with thorny bushes, turning it into a wasteland. Today 80 species of flowers are growing in the park, and an ancient aquarium called "Gully" is now running peacefully throughout the park. Visitors come here for the chirping of the water and the chirping of the birds because you will not hear anything else in this quiet oasis.

Umaid Bhawan Palace

The Umaid building is a structured behemoth-turned-hotel that doubles as a living museum. In its original 1928 construction to preserve the iconic yellow sandstone, Renaissance-inspired cupolas, and Rajasthani towers, it gained cultural status as a luxury hotel. The more than 26 acres of magnificent gardens are adorned with plants that perfume the whole palace with the scent of roses and jasmine, and each night the palace is lined with well-lit lanterns scattered in the golden halo.

Santoshi Mata Temple

Santoshi Mata is an incredibly important goddess of the Hindu faith, known as the Mother of Contentment, and is included in the Santoshi Mata temple. Local devotees, especially women, often travel here to seek his blessings, especially as Friday is considered a special holy day for the contented mother. If you are here for less spiritual experience and more for aesthetics, you will not be disappointed. The temple is skillfully built from the Brown Stone, rising above the desert town.

Pukhraj Durry Udhyog

Pukhraj Durry Udhyog is a family-run carpet-weaving cooperative located in Salawas, a small village. The owner Chhotaram likes to give his visitors the gift of indomitable tours, even taking pictures with them after he continues to weave vibrant yarn together. Each blanket boasts a unique design, including an option for customization if you have specific colors and patterns for your little one. Prices are very affordable, but it is worth it for you to be able to return home a token of Jodhpuri heritage.

Mandore Gardens

The Mandor Gardens are less than four miles from the main part of the city, so there are very few tracks to visit this beautiful, pristine place. The gardens are dotted with stone-carved temples and the ruins of cenotaphs dating back to the 14th century. The calm and quiet atmosphere makes it the ideal place for an afternoon picnic with the family or an evening stroll with your partner; all you need to pay attention to is the 'Hanuman langur', an ironic term for monkeys.

Kaylana Lake

Lake Kaylana is not only a picturesque place in the expanse of blue-green waters; The city is mostly built on a desert which is why most of the people of Jodhpur drink their drinking water. As one of the largest reservoirs in Rajasthan, it is not surprising that Lake Kaylana has now become a tourist destination, where families often stop for pits for afternoon tea or lunch. There is always a cool breeze to greet your face while you are standing right on the water’s edge.

Chamunda Mata Temple

As the goddess adopted by the Maharajas of Jodhpur, Hindus worship Chamunda Mata with special fervor during the celebration of Dussehra. Her idol was placed inside the Mehrangarh Fort in the 1400s and turned a part of the fort into the Chamunda Mata temple. The gorgeous, densely carved walls are topped with milky-white dome-shaped cupolas and perfectly complement the peachy-pink sunset sky. Come for a spiritual experience for a great view of Jodhpur.
