Learning is the process of acquiring new or modifying already existing knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences. This process is continuous. It can be consciously or unconsciously. The ability to learn is possessed by humans, animals and some plants too. Human learning begins before the person was born until death. Throughout the long process, each new discoveries and learning from different experiences were stacked on the experience-bank. Learning stays for a lifetime. This learning helps a lot in a person's mental self.

Mental self is one of the three selves that a person has, the other two are the emotional self and physical self. Each self possesses different characteristics. On what self will be dominant to a person, depends on how he reacts or handles situations and also on the things he believe in. Many believe that mental self should be made by every person dominant since it is rational and logical. But mental self tends to disregard the other selves that sometimes lead to making the other two selves suffer.

Each learning that was processed and stacked on the experience-bank becomes, somehow, the basis of the mental self on how to react at a specific situation. The learning of a person from the past built the belief that he has at present. Each new learning is also being processed by the mental self and he will make his own standard of responding at a situation base from what he had learned. New learning contributes and plays a big part to the growth and maturity of a person's mental self
