Greetings travelers!
With this article, I'm gonna start some sort of serie of guides specially directed for all of you where I'll be explaining some of the main aspects and features of the game. The intention is to create at the beginning some basic knowledge and then start digging into more complex aspects of the game.
Today's guide is gonna cover the very very initial concepts of the game, so if you are an advanced player, feel free to skip this article, but… who knows? Maybe you can learn something new
And finally, say that my guidelines will be based in the global FCBT source (not CN) and in the PC version. I say that because some features may change when you compare the CN client with the global client (the main aspect that change and everybody knows is monetization, we don't have it in our beta). Without entertaining ourselves more, let's get started.
WELCOME TO TEYVAT TRAVELER!
I'm glad to see you here! Follow me and we will revise some of the most basic features of our favourite game, because I don’t wanna you to get hurt or lost in our first step!
So, first of all, ensure that you have the game installed and that you can come in to Teyvat!
After you enter the launcher, the log in screen will appear, and you will have to fill it with the EMAIL that you have gained your beta key. Be sure to follow up the rules and suggestions of the emails that you have recived from Genshin Impact official channels for avoid getting your account banned. Be good
So, after a brief cutscene, you will have to make the first decision that will mark your entire journey. Who are you gonna play with? Boy or girl? Aether or Lumine? Choose wisely because you can’t regret later, as it's not possible to change the character in the future.
In my case, I have chosen Aether, but I don't discard changing my mind in global launch!
Then, you're heading Teyvat and you will met our favourite partner in there: Paimon! She will be our guide in that beautiful journey
So now, let's get to the basics.
UI interface
We can see here the main elements in the UI that are present in almost all the situations. Now we are going to describe them:
- 1 Quest log: You can check all your quests/missions/dailies here.
- 2 Elemental vision: You can find out which type of element are the objects that surround you (for example, enemies shield’s, boxes, grass…).
- 3 Minimap: You can check your position here and some useful information in your surroundings (such as anemoculus, geoculus, waypoints, quests objectives…).
- 4 Wish: You can access to the wish menu, where you can spend primogems and gacha currency in order to get some unlockable characters/weapons.
- 5 Inventory: In there you can see which type of objects you have gatheret until now.
- 6 Characters: You can access to the characters menu, where you can see their statistics, equip, artifacts, constellation and more.
- 7 Your team: Shows you which characters you have right now in your team and the keyboard tile that you have to press to switch them.
- 8 and 9 character's skills: Remember to combine all the skills of your characters to create elemental reactions.
- 10 Character health and level.
- 11 You
An important thing to remember is that you can click “alt” button in your keyboard to reveal the mouse pointer, so you can then navigate through menus.
You can open a fast menu by pressing “Tab” tile and then you only have to drag your mouse into the direction that you want to enter the corresponding submenu.
Main menu
Here is where you can access to almost all the options of the game so we are going to revise it one by one:
- 1 Profile picture: You can change it between some different options. I haven’t got many of them because I only had in my party in the moment of the screenshot two characters.
- 2 UID number: Is the number that is associated with your MiHoYo account. You can copy it only clicking on it, and you can share it with your friends in order to get together playing in the game co-op mod (unlocks at AR 16).
- 3 Your name. By pressing the right icon you are able to customize your character identification card: You can change the avatar/profile picc, your nickname, your signature and you can also copy your UID number.
- 4 Adventure rank: You can grow your adventure rank by exploring, questing, opening chests, revealing mysteries… When you unlock a new level, you can gain more prizes and you have to claim them in the adventurer's guild house in Teyvat. IT'S IMPORTANT TO RAISE YOUR AR LEVEL, as some content of the game is locked behind an AR rank (for example, co-op at AR 16).
- 5 World level: I believe that one picture explains more than 1000 words (even though there is only text in the image):
- 6 Shop: In there you can buy some useful items for upgrading your characters using different types of currencies. Also you can buy characters (for example Barbara) and some gacha currency. Take into consideration thay in global launch shop may refresh every some time and you have to know this for avoiding loosing that precious object that you wanna buy.
- 7 Party setup: You can organize your party here. There's any mistery in this screen.
- 8 Friends: Here you will be able to contact your friends and meet with them, invite them to your world (be aware of loot thiefs!!) and chat with them. Remember that you can add them by typing their UID.
- 9 Characters: In this screen you can have a general view of all your characters, order them by level, damage, element and all that stuff… A great place to take screens of them and watching their animations/words.
- 10 Character page: One of the most important options. In here, you can customize all your character's stuff. You can see your character rank and level, you can invert some exp books on him/her, equip with that 5-tier weapon that you have got in gacha, craft and evolve their constellation… It's important to talk about the different options of that but we will see that in other article, so keep updated!
- 11 Inventory: Other important page here. You can see what you have gathered/acquired while
playing in here. There are many subpages here (from left to right):
->Weapons page
->Artifacts: You can equip them to your characters.
->Character items: For upgrading their rank tier.
->Food
->Materials
->Quest items (including books)
-> Consumables
- 12 Quest log: In here you can check the different types of missions or tasks that you have to do for advancing in the story or getting usefull items. There are many different types of tasks (from left to right):
-> All the quests
->Archon quests: Main storyline
->Legendary quests: Related with the storyline but not the main missions.
->Daily commissions:For farming materials.
->World quests: Other quests
Red arrow: In there you can check all the quests that you have already completed
- 13 World map: In order to avoiding getting lost I suggest you to check it regularly. An interesting option of the map is that you can add some markers to it to reference main spots in the land. In the image below you can see the types of icons that the game already has (it has a limit of 99 right now).
- 14 Wish page: Where you will spend all the gacha currency in the banners that will appear for getting quite good stuff/characters. You can check the details of how every banner is going to work and the history of your plays. At the moment, there are only two options: the one for beginners (with some discount) and the regular banner.
- 15 Community button: This button redirect you to the main webpage and official forums.
- 16 Feedback: Super important. With that option you will be able to send your feedback to the developers in form of bug reporting or suggestions for improving the gameplay.
It's important that every player of this beta takes this option into consideration. We are here to help them creating a super polished game and to enjoy this experience while playing!!
- 17 Event's page: Here you will consult all the different in-game events that will appear during the beta and the official announcements. You should check it every day that you are going to play!
- 18 Mail: Here you can get some of the prizes of the official events.
- 19 Clock time: Do you preffer playing at night scenary? Or maybe you are more of seeing the sunshine in Flacon's Coast? You can change the time clock of the game here!
- 20 Settings: You can adjust the graphics and sound here. An important thing is that you can adjust your mouse sensibility here, and the language and voice settings can be changed here too!
Hoping that you have found this guide interesting and useful. Please feel free to write down in
the comment box all your thoughts for improving my guides, and if you would want some specific guide of a part of the game.
Remember that all thit info is subject to change in the global launch.
I also have to say that Sleipnir also made a beginners guideline based in the CN client, so you can check his work that it's so useful! We have to share all the knowledge that we can!
Hoping to see all of you in Teyvat soon travellers! Enjoy your journey today!
