At first, HE IS A PIOUS MUSLIM BUT SOMETIMES TAKES A FALSE OATH/ SWEARS TO A LIE

The basic principle for the Muslim is to be honest and truthful, and he should not speak anything but the truth, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! Fear Allaah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds)”

(Qur’an, Tawbah 9:119).

Whoever takes a false oath commits a grave sin. To make a false oath means to swear to a lie in order to prove or deny something.

Abdullah Bin 'Amr Ibn Al-'Aas, may Allaah be pleased with him, related that RasululLah, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "These are major sins: 1) Associating someone with Allah, 2) Disobeying [one's parents, 3) Killing someone, 4) and tendering a false oath".

(Bukhari)

Ibn Mas’ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that RasululLah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: “A person who swears falsely in order to take possession of a Muslim's property unjustly shall face the wrath of Allah on the Day of Judgment. Another narration reads: “He will be deprived of Paradise and will enter Hell.”

Therefore, whoever swears falsely should seek the forgiveness of Allah and he should sincerely repent. If he causes harm or injustice to someone by a false oath, he has to give back the right of those people and remove the injustice from them.

Furthermore, SHE IS A PIOUS MUSLIMA BUT TREATS HER HOUSEHELP BADLY

Islam encourages kindness to slaves and servants, by teaching that the head of the household should give his servant a share of his food and drink, especially if this servant is the one who makes that food or brings it to his master, and he looks at the food.

Abu Hurayrah RadiyAllahu anhu reported that RasululLah SallalLahu alayhi wa sallam said: “When the servant of any one of you brings his food to him, if he does not make him sit with him, then let him give him a morsel or two, or a mouthful or two, for he has endured its heat and preparation.”

(Bukhari, 5460; Muslim, 1663).

An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

This hadeeth encourages good conduct and generosity with regard to food, especially with regard to the one who made it or served it, because he is the one who endured its heat and smoke, and felt like eating from it, and smelled its aroma. All of this is understood as meaning that it is mustahabb (encouraged).

Pardoning and overlooking ordinary mistakes made by servants comes under the heading of good manners. Allah has commanded His slaves to be kind, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “and do good. Truly, Allah loves Al-Muhsinoon (the good-doers).”

(Qur'an, al-Baqarah 2:195).

Abdullah ibn ‘Umar said: A man came to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, how often should I forgive a servant? And he remained silent, then he repeated the words and he remained silent. The third time he said: “Forgive him seventy times each day.”

(Abu Dawud, 5164).

Lastly, HE IS WIDELY READ AND EDUCATED BUT KNOWS LITTLE ABOUT ISLAM AND ITS HISTORY

Islam is a religion that celebrates seeking knowledge as a virtue such that there are many verses in the Qur'an that encourage us to exercise our intellect to think and ponder. One such is the verse: "And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for people who give thought."

(Qur'an, Al-Jathiyah, 45:13).

Knowledge is more important than wealth. It's not surprising therefore that knowledge is among the important things which Allah (SWT) directed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to pray and ask for more & be granted.

Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Qur’an: "And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

(Qur’an 20:114).

As Muslims, it is important for us to master the foundation of our religious sciences. Seeking religious knowledge and being equipped with adequate religious understanding is important for us to practice our faith confidently. The one who's knowledgeable in worldly affairs but ignorant of the Deen is indeed a looser. His achievements or social status amount to nothing. SubhanalLah.

Allah help us all Ameen thumma ameeen
