Sexual violence may occur in different contexts, it might even be conscious or not. It refers to any sexual attempt to obtain a sexual act, or unwanted sexual comments or acts that are directed against a person’s sexuality using force by anyone, regardless of their relationship to the victim, in any setting, including at home and at work.

Sexual violence which includes rape; rape date, marital rape, intimate partner abuse. Sexual violence occurs when a person is forced to unwilling take part in sexual activity, it includes but not limited to;

1. Touching in a sexual manner without consent. e.g kissing, grabbing fondling. Sexual violence can occur even without actuai penetration. Touching someone in a sexual manner without their consent can actually be regarded as an act of sexual violence. For instance, caressing someone's thigh without their approval is a violent act.

3. Forcing a person to perform in a sexual act. Another form of sexual violence where a person may be forced to participate in sex. In this scenario, the victim may be asked to have sex with another person on the command of the molester. The concept  is clearer in a situation whereby a thief break into the house and command a boy to sleep with his sister. In this case, the boy and his sister has suffered sexual violence as they were forced to perform in a sexual act.

4. Beating sexual parts of the body. Another form of sexual violence is by beating the sexual parts of a person's body either during sex or while sexual intercourse is not taking place. Spanking during sexual activities may be a form of sexual violence as it tends to bring pain to the partner.

5. Forcing a person to view pornograpy materials, forcing a person to participate in pornography. Sexual violence can also include forcing someone to watch porn or view pornography materials without their consent. Porn can create a bad image on the concept of sex to viewers. Pornography shouldn't be forced on others as it is an act of sexual violence. Everybody has the rights to view what they want to see without any form of coercion.

6. Using a weapon to force compliance. A non-compliance woman or girl may be threatened with weapon to force compliance. Many death cases has erupted from this scenario where the victim was stabbed with knife or other deadly weapon because they would not agree to have sex with their molesters.

7. Making unwelcome sexual comments or jokes. Also sexual violence can occur in this manner. Making derogatory sexual remarks to others is a sexual violence. Funny enough, such do occur everyday on the internet and social medias. Unwelcomed Sexual comments can affect the victims negatively in a psychological manner. Such comments are what we see everyday on the social medias which may not be welcomed by the person being passed across to. Now some of these sexual comments may actually not be bad as some of these comments are always  being said privately between husbands and  their wives, but it becomes a  sexual violence when it is passed to someone publicly which is not welcomed by the person. Such comments make cause embarrassment for them and affect their self esteem.

8. Withholding sexual affection. Even sexual violence can occur between husband and wife. Withholding sexual affection and love from a partner can be a form of sexual violence. Denial of sex is a form of sexual violence among husband and wife. This form of sexual violence normally occur when one partner is not happy with the other partner as a result of one reason or the other.

11. Denial of sexual information. Sexual violence occurs when a person is denied of sexual information he or she needs to become a better and healthy person sexually. Parents denying their girl child of sexual information they need to have access to are actually engaging in sexual violence, because such information will help the girl to know more about her sexuality and ways to maintain herself regarding sexual acts.

12. Forced prostitution. Either forcing a girl to enter into prostitution as a means of providing means of livelihood to her family is sexual violence, or trafficking girls to other places for the purpose of using them as prostitutes is also a form of sexual violence.

13. Unfounded allegation of promiscuity and or infidelity. Sexual violence can also occur when a girl or woman is accused of promiscuity when in actual sense is not true. It can also take the form of a married woman being accused of unfaithfulness or Infidelity by her husband when in real sense is not true. Such allegations paint women as unfaithful partners and are regarded as cheap or without self worth. Many who couldn't take the blame upon themselves have committed suicide.

14. Purposefully exposing the person to HIV/AIDS or sexually transmitted diseases. Exposing someone's else to sexually transmitted diseases in a deliberate manner is a form of sexual violence.

15.  Exposing one’s genitals or naked body to other(s) without consent is a form of sexual violence. This may be done in order to entice the opposite partner into sexual acts.

16. Masturbating in public. Masturbation is the  manual erotic stimulation of the genitals or other erotic regions, often to orgasm, either by oneself or a partner, often with the use of hand in rubbing the sexual organs to derive pleasure. So masturbating in public is a form of sexual violence as it tends to disrupt the psychological peace of the people that looks at such acts in the public.

17. Watching someone in private acts without their knowledge or permission. This is another common form of sexual violence where a person is being watched privately by another person without their knowledge. For instance watching secretly someone taking their bath is a bad act and a form of sexual violence.
