People can call them cartoons, but only real anime supporters and lovers know what category they really fall under. Although cartoons are used to offer entertainment and are more along the lines of commercial appeal, even today, most anime tug the strings of our hearts, and we are attached to them just the way we are to Game of Thrones, Suits, or any other TV series.
It is, however, the mixing and combining of so many different themes, love, friendship, war, mystery, science fiction, that makes it attractive to everyone, not just people who like this animation style.
Although some may be watching Japanese "cartoons," the anime followers know that they have much more to offer, and most of them include important life lessons for all ages.
So, what lessons in life are we learning from them? Below, here are some:
1. You should make peace with your inner demons
Everyone has their own demons, just as the popular anime character Naruto once used to do, instead of crushing them with hatred. Naruto told us that to change yourself, it is best to happily embrace who you are and make friends with your shortcomings.
Know that, for a reason, everything is the way it is.
2. The louder you scream, more power you have
We all know about the Dragon Ball series and how much time it takes to yell. Well, they do claim that somehow your inner strength is linked to your rage and frustration. So the next time you lift a heavy weight, do it while crying, adding a whole new strength to it!
3. Overcome your fears
Just as Arima had a fear related to playing piano in "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" (Your Lie in April), people have their own fears and everyone can try to fight them once and for all.
Often, as help, individuals may need others. Know, when the time is right, someone will certainly walk into your life, and that was also taught to us by Your Lie in April.
When you fall, life is all about choosing yourself.
4. Circumstances force people to change
"Tokyo Ghoul" has taught us that no one in the past will like to leave their good sides behind. When the pain is too much, though, people change and the harm can be permanent sometimes.
On the opposite, life's struggles will bring out the best individual within you. For instance, after all the immaturity we saw in Naruto, with the passing of time and with the number of struggles he went through, he turned out to be a very responsible individual.
5. Knowledge is power
Hundreds of books had to be read by Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse from "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" only to correct their one error that had resulted in big losses for them both.
When they read more and more books, however, they grew wiser and had a better understanding of the dark schemes of government. This eventually led them to their success.
6. Being nice is not a duty, it should be embedded in nature
In the Pokémon series that's been going on since the 90's, you can learn so much from Ash. We should all strive to be like Ash and have a healthy respect for any living being in the world, whether it be an animal or a human (or even plants and insects).
