We live in a society where we are bound to follow all common norms of our society. Women are more prone to be haunted by such so-called trends which, sometimes even ruin their whole life. Virginity is the most burning issue where all our nerves especially those of men are paralyzed after hearing about any girl/woman losing her virginity despite knowing the real story behind it. Before I go into the depth of this matter and its anatomical and physiological importance I just wanna make sure that you have got those all guts to digest the rest of the part of this write-up.

"A person who has never had intercourse is said to be a virgin."

So, now we are all clear that for a woman to be a virgin she doesn't need to have an intact hymen every time. There are many reasons where most of the women lose their hymen owing to the different circumstances in her life.

That's not the case with every woman. Few of the women are born without a hymen or It might get ruptured due to some other factors like a woman, who is an athlete is more prone to the rupture of hymen than any other woman.

Here I mention the most important aspects of hymen and its importance.

1) An anatomical one—Hymen stretches across the opening of the vagina but doesn't cover it completely.

2) Hymen of every woman doesn't look the same—few are even born without one.

3) Like other vestigial organs hymen doesn't have any known function so it doesn't matter otherwise.

4) Sometimes, owing to the congenital defect an imperforated hymen is formed which is surgically removed later on in life.

5)Depending on the dietary factors—maltreated women have always a very thin layer of hymen so it might get broken while lifting weight.

6) many other predisposing factors can lead to the rupture of hymen without intercourse i.e biking, horseback riding, gymnastics plus using tampons, and including masturbation.

The only purpose to highlight this matter is that we are the doctors of the future and we have to eradicate such norms by spreading awareness among the people that hymen is just a flesh of mass and it's has nothing to do with your dignity and reputation until and unless there is an involvement of a woman in an illegal act. I have seen people divorcing their wives after finding that their women didn't bleed during the first night of marriage. That's where we have to improve!

According to Islam, women do have their rights in the male-dominant society and we(men) are equally responsible to provide them all. Especially those men who belong to rural areas almost always treat their wives as a slave. I'm really happy that we are getting rid of those so-called norms of the stone age with each day passing. We are moving forward because women are contributing as equal as men.

The current percentage of women population in Pak is 48.6% which is almost equal to half of the population. What does this % signify? The only thing— that we need to educate our women as much as possible. We need to make them able to work along with men to make this country as prosperous as ever. Though I got diverted from my original topic but that's what was also necessary for me to highlight.

You can't deny the magical power and greatness of any woman based on a single flesh of mass(Hymen). Before you judge her make sure that you know her life story. Before you throw harsh words on her make sure if you were in her place what you would have done. Before you treat her as a slave make sure that you have also sisters or will have daughters to be married one day. Before you rape her make sure that she is also someone's mother. Before you deny her existence make sure that she is equally responsible for your existence. Respect her! Encourage her! Motivate her! Dig her out of the dungeon of ignorance. Educate her so as your sister or daughter can make you feel proud one day.
