Hello to my readers. Last week, I tried to think of a blog not just about myself but I want to share great stories with these amazing people. Since this month is about Mental Health Awareness, I want them to be the voice of the unheard. I can watch in the news and social media due to pandemic, it increases the number of people who were reported for having mental issues. The struggle is evident. I love how Selena Gomez, an actress and a singer promoting Mental Awareness as a subject to be taught in school, and my vote is on her. Starting tonight, I will share every woman's story by episode.
It took me a week to decide and choose women who are confident with their imperfections and how they embrace them. They are keys for us to gain confidence and be aware of good and positive things. For you to know, I knew these women personally and whether they became part of my past but they were never been forgotten in my current life. Honestly, they became my inspiration and I want you to be inspired as well with them.
This is going to be a good ride. It can be happiness, darkness, criticisms, and compliments. I do hope through this post, I and these women can contribute to every single woman of all what we've been through and how we are kicking to survive and live life.

Way back in college, I became a Team Leader and Facilitator at the University of Cebu for almost 3 consecutive years. I handled different courses and Faith is one of my students. Faith considered herself an extrovert person. She is happy-go-lucky which is very evident in the way she shows her beautiful smile.
Faith shared her interest and hobbies. She loves traveling and dancing. She is in her 20's a graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
THE TIME SHE FOUND OUT SCOLIOSIS
When her mom took a bath on her, they noticed that she had a hump on her right side of her back. She was in her 6th grade at that time.
HOW DOES IT AFFECT HER MENTAL HEALTH?
When she got diagnosed with scoliosis, everything went difficult. Her degree at that time was 42 and her doctor recommended wearing a brace. If you could imagine wearing a brace and hiding from everyone was very stressful. She needed to wore a jacket every day even if it was so hot. In that adolescent stage, Faith always cried every night. Since she was so young at that time, She really doesn’t know that mental health has existed. As far she remembered, she woke at 3 am, crying. With her brace, she can’t bend, run, and do some activities during her high school days. She always got an exemption during her P.E class.
"Aside from the back pain, the most painful part of having scoliosis was words from other people who didn’t know my story. They laughed and talked about me, my condition in specific," she said.
This is Faith's message to her fellow scoliosis;
For my fellow scoliosis warriors, you should love yourself and boost your confidence. Love your curves. Just keep fighting! We are strong! We are beautiful! We are warriors!
Since she was suffering from scoliosis for over 10 years, her doctor decided to undergo surgery. She has no choice. She wants to live normal just like you! So she takes a risk and here she is right now, 3 years of living her titanium spine and she is loving and embracing it!
She can see herself five years from now, happily married to the love of her life.
Faith is teaching us how to handle ourselves in times of our downfalls. That life shouldn't be given up but to fight for it. It shows also how she was surrounded by loving and caring people that supported her from the beginning until the end. True people will stay at your darkest and accept your past and welcome the new version of you.
This post will show support for those men and women who are experiencing Scoliosis.
This how it ends for the first episode about Faith's journey with SCOLIOSIS. Keep updated for the upcoming episode 2 who will give other lessons and experiences.
Reminder
Faith agreed for a written interview and accepted my offer to let her part of the blog.
She authorized me to select photos on her social media account.
She's excited about this blog and inspires people with her story.
