On July 22, 2020, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a state body responsible for regulating and supervising financial institutions in the United States, authorizes banks to provide services to their customers custody of cryptocurrencies.
The OCC concluded that offering crypto-asset safekeeping, including holding unique cryptocurrency keys, was a modern form of traditional custodial banking. Without fear or favour, the cryptocurrency keys should not be given out to anybody unless it's completely mutual understanding such as for example staking reasons, or other reasons.
