Three BitMEX executives, including the CEO, are being sued by the United States. They all just quit as the exchange tries to reassure its customers. Faced with the risk of closure, they transfer their bitcoins to other exchanges.
Samuel Reed, the CTO, has been arrested. The latter has since announced that he is stepping down from his management position. But this is also the case of Arthur Hayes, CEO of BitMEX, also questioned by the courts. Greg Dwyer, head of development, is also stepping back.
The exchange's holding company, 100x Group, regains control and appoints a new management team.
