Bitcoin's mining difficulty broke a new high on Sunday, surpassing August's record by 10%.

Remember that the difficulty is a parameter that varies so as to maintain an average time of ten minutes between two blocks. This parameter, updated automatically every 2016 blocks (approximately two weeks), can scale up or down to adapt to the hashing power of the network. The difficulty had experienced significant variations following the health crisis and the halving of May 11, before starting to rise again in June.
