Just three years ago in 2017 the number of bitcoin distributors was only 1932. The explosion in the cryptocurrency sector, however, led to a jump of + 107% in one year, to reach 4,007 distributors for the year 2018. In 2020, this continued, with + 67% of Bitcoin distributors installed from January to September.
When we look at the geographical distribution of these ATMs, we see that the United States still leads very far ahead of other countries. Nearly 8,000 bitcoin distributors are in fact installed in the country. Canada follows by far, with 874 ATMs, followed by the United Kingdom with 282 ATMs.
