When the former ways of doing things are proving frequently ineffective, without our best interests at heart and have failed us, the onus lies on us to discover and come up with new, better ways to get things done. A superficial glance would show that the former ways of doing things have indeed failed us countless times in the past, and across board irrespective of the industry they are located in. From the Stock Market Crash and the ensuing Great Depression of 1929, to the Real Estate industry and the Housing Bubble of 2008, to Social Media and the Facebook privacy scandal in very recent 2018, and even the Music industry and the blatant thievery artists go through from Record Labels and distributors every other day. We saw it not too long ago when Kanye West went on a ranting spree on Twitter recently to call out the Record Labels and the stealing the carry out n the name of Record deals. We have also seen similar things from Michael Jackson when he was alive, with his fight with Sony, and a lot of other artists have also had the same complaint.
It is rather glaring for everyone to see that these guys are only for self, it therefore shows you why so many are embracing Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies as an alternative. Blockchain is giving us a wide range of alternatives to select from, to combat the control these centralized figures have reposed on us. From a lot of decentralized Social Media that are seeking to control the excesses of their centralized counterparts like Facebook, Instagram and the rest, to the rise of Decentralized Finance that is also taking power away from the few and giving it to the Community. The industry I’m most excited about though is the Music industry. A lot of good quality projects coming up with their artists at centre and heart. I’ve heard about a couple recently but one I’m most excited about and a part of just have to be Emanate Music, hosted on the EOS Blockchain.
They are most definitely an alternative for me in the Music streaming industry against the centralized established top dogs. In an industry where it’s all about profit making for the distributors, in an industry where it’s all about the Record Labels and distributors ripping off the artists with various crazy hidden and ambiguous clauses, it truly is refreshing to see a platform with a different view. It is very refreshing to see a platform that genuinely places the interest of her artists first, even ahead of profit making. And it all is made even more transparent with the use of Blockchain.
So many new features I’m looking forward to in the coming weeks just going to show that when you have the right team with the right project you can expect big things. I’ve been using Emanate for close to 6 months now, and it truly is an alternative for me.
