TOGG, Turkish National Electric Powered Car
Turkey finally officially released its first national car on Friday (12/27) yesterday. The car brand named TOGG was introduced directly by the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Although still a prototype, the presence of this car is recognized by President Erdogan is a very good progress. The reason is, the presence of TOGG is arguably the dream of all Turks since 60 years ago.
"Today, we all witness a historic day to realize the 60-year dream of all Turkish citizens," Erdogan said in his remarks as quoted by Carscoops.
This prototype is also the second attempt from Turkey to produce its own car. Previously, in 1961, through the Devrim brand, Turkey also almost had its own national car, unfortunately it never materialized until now.
In fact, in order to show the country's seriousness in producing national cars, TOGG immediately displayed 2 prototype models, which are planned to undergo their global debut in 2022.
Still from the same source, TOGG introduced 2 car models, each of which came in the form of a compact SUV and sedan.
Designed directly by renowned automotive designer from Italy, Pininfarina, the SUV model from TOGG has such a beautiful and up-to-date design.
In its front view, the TOGG SUV at a glance does indeed have a resemblance to the HKG K350 crossover or Vietnam's national car, VinFast.
As for the sedan car, it has a simple but modern design language. Most likely, this TOGG sedan will have a design similar to Tesla cars.
In addition to having a pretty beautiful design, both are also certain to be equipped with electric power. According to the boss of TOGG, Gürcan Karakas, his party has prepared two choices of configuration of electric motors, each of which has 200 hp and 400 hp power.
For the choice of 200 hp power, will be equipped with 1 electric motor and rear wheel drive. As for the 400 hp power, it will be equipped with 2 electric motors and all-wheel drive.
For batteries, TOGG also provides 2 choices, large and small. For large sizes, it is claimed to have the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds, with a cruising capacity of more than 500 km.
As for smaller batteries, it can only accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.6 seconds. Then for travel power only reaches 300 km.
Besides being present with electric power, TOGG will also be equipped with a variety of advanced features in it. Like autonomous driving technology Level 2, which features Slow Traffic Pilot, then 5G technology, and Holographic Assistant.
According to TOGG, the Holographic Assistant feature is a system that displays a three-dimensional holographic display on the windshield.
So that the driver is still able to read information while still maintaining visibility towards the road.
The plan, this Turkish national car will be produced at the new TOGG factory in Gemlik district, northwestern province of Bursa. The ambitious TOGG will launch at least 5 models until 2030.
This actually looks both from inside and out like the Audi's electric SUV which is on the road today!
