“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.”- Jim Rohn

Questions we may ask ourselves…. How did this person get so much money?

What is so special about them?

How come they have all this money?

We can never quite put our finger on what it is about that special something, that keeps us guessing, or the drive to try and find that “special ingredient.” But I think we’re looking in the wrong place — in more ways than one.

We’re searching for the wrong things. What if we redefine what we’re looking for? How can we discover something different?

1. Get up at the crack of dawn

Most self-made millionaires get up at least three hours before the official start of their day. They use their waking hours to plan their day, tackle personal projects, or work out.

People who are at their best in the morning are more proactive than those who peak in the evening according to a Harvard study.

2. Read, read, and read more…

Successful people devote at least 30 minutes daily to learning and improving their lives. Many do this by reading a variety of informative books. According to the world-famous investor Warren Buffett, reading is the most important habit anyone can develop.

3. Spent time on mindful thinking

Many of the rich make time to process their thoughts. The wealthy tend to think alone in the morning. They may reflect on their careers, their health, and their personal relationships. In addition to reducing stress, the Harvard medical doctor advises that reflection about your thoughts can help relieve stress.

4. Don’t skip your workouts

Working out regularly will build your self-confidence, help you stay in shape, and improve your mood. Many successful business leaders make sure to keep up their fitness routine. For example, billionaire Richard Branson says that his morning workout of going for a run or playing tennis has doubled his productivity

5. Surround yourself with people that inspire you to be better…

You are only as successful as the people you surround yourself with.

If you’re looking to meet more like-minded individuals, you could join a professional group dedicated to your profession or your personal interests. Even if you don’t have the same career or hobbies as the other members, you’ll still find plenty of great people to network with. Be extremely selective with who you spend your time with.

6. Goals, goals, goals…

The most successful people have a clear vision of what they want to accomplish, and they set goals to achieve that. When you know what you’re trying to achieve and set specific targets, you can focus on the right things. Without a clear vision of where you want your life to go, how are you going to get there? When it comes to improvement if you don’t set specific goals and milestones, what will your work even be aiming for?

“If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us.”- Jim Rohn

7. Get your sleep

You need to sleep well, so your mind can absorb information and learn new things. A good night’s sleep is important in studying and in a successful exam. The more you sleep, the more effective your brain is at processing information. You should get enough rest and sleep to help you remember important concepts.

8. Multiple sources of income

Self-made millionaires have multiple income streams. They don’t rely on one source of income. Diversifying sources of income means that in a recession, you can continue to work and earn money from new opportunities.

9. Stop wasting time

The greatest risk for wealthy people isn’t money. It’s time. If you choose to spend your time with the best apps, you will have a better quality of life. Once you see time as one of the greatest risks in life, it will force you to become more thoughtful about the choices you make when you are using your free time.

10. View problems or challenges in life as gifts

People often give up and stop trying when they encounter problems. But successful people take these hurdles as opportunities to improve, learn from their mistakes, and prevent them in the future.
