All people experience extreme sadness or grief. Sometimes we don't even know as to why are we feeling that way. This emotion usually fades as the days go by. But for some reason that deep sadness also stays for longer period of time or it comes on and off. It now affects our mental and physical health. This is when the DEPRESSION comes in.
There are different types of depression. One common type is what we called MAJOR DEPRESSION it is usually related to the things that are happening around us. It impacts our emotions and we carry it inside feeling like no one understands us. The other type of depression known to be the menacing kind is what we called DEPRESSIVE PSYCHOSIS. This is a sort of losing touch of reality. It includes hallucinations and delusions. When we say hallucination, the person sees, hears, feels, tastes or smelling things that are not really existing. Delusion also known as idiosyncratic belief. The person has its own school of thought and is believing in something that is not real. These only are the two of different types of depression.
A person who is experiencing such thing needs support morally. That is why it is very important for us not to judge people quickly because we do not know what they are going through. A lady who you think that was rude because she did not smile back at you, is struggling from a trauma being abused by somebody and you say unkind or critical things about her. People sometimes are not considerate with the feelings of others. We all do that without realising it. This often cause a person with depression to end his or her life. Sometimes we need to be sensitive enough to determine if a person is going through hard times. It is better to understand people and never utter words which will not do any good. Be always on the side your love ones whatever the situation is. If they are going through tough times, talk to them or if not always look after them. A depressed person's thought is unstable. Now they seem to be okay, later they will be deluged by total darkness and no one would know the desperate action that they could possibly do.
To the people who are going through this state, it is okay to pour it out. It is totally normal. It is okay not to be okay. There are still people who cares, willing to lend their ears and console you. If you feel that you can no longer handle this state of affairs and the emotional pain is unbearable, you can visit a specialist. They can provide the best advice and practices to ease the struggle of someone's thought. It is better to seek for an assistance. It is totally okay. Our mental and emotional health also needs to be kept because it has a great impact to our physical health. Let us treasure our lives for it is a gift. Always remember that a great morning always comes after darkness. We all go through ups and downs but it is on how we handle things. Failure makes us realize and learn things so that we can do better in the future. Let us fight depression. Let us have compassion to people. In this act we can make a person feel that there is still love in the world that worth living for.
