In 1901, the Cole-Hampton-Hatcher Supermarket was set up in Columbus, Georgia. In 1903, the Hatcher family took sole proprietorship and the name was changed to the Hatcher Market. The market was situated at what was 22 West tenth Road. The present location (after house number changes) is 15 West tenth Road. At that equivalent time, the prevalence of packaged sodas rose quickly, and supermarket proprietors wished to boost their benefit.

As a basic food item distributer, Claud A. Hatcher bought an enormous volume of Coca-Cola syrup from the nearby organization sales rep, Columbus Roberts. Hatcher felt that the organization merited an exceptional marked down cost for the syrup since it bought such enormous volumes. Roberts would not move on the expense, and a severe clash between the two ejected. Hatcher disclosed to Roberts he would win the fight by failing to purchase any more Coca-Cola, and Hatcher resolved to build up his own soda recipe. He began creating items in the cellar of the store with a formula for soda.

Hatcher propelled the Association Packaging Works in his family's basic food item store. The first item in the Illustrious Crown line was Regal Crown Soda in 1905,followed by Imperial Crown Strawberry, and Regal Crown Root Lager. The organization was renamed Chero-Cola in 1910, and in 1925 renamed Nehi Company after its shaded and seasoned beverages. In 1934, Chero-Cola was reformulated by Rufus Kamm, a scientific expert, and re-discharged as Illustrious Crown Cola.

followed by Imperial Crown Strawberry, and Illustrious Crown Root Brew. The organization was renamed Chero-Cola in 1910, and in 1925 renamed Nehi Enterprise after its hued and enhanced beverages. In 1934, Chero-Cola was reformulated by Rufus Kamm, a scientist, and re-discharged as Regal Crown Cola.

During the 1950s, Illustrious Crown Cola and moon pies were a mainstream "working man's lunch" in the American South. In 1954, Imperial Crown was the principal organization to sell soda pops in a can, and later the primary organization to sell a soda pop in an aluminum can.
