Country-Specific Information: According to Johns Hopkins University estimates, there were 5,904 confirmed cases and 191 deaths in Cameroon as of June 1. The government of Cameroon is periodically announcing the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. On May 28, it shared that there were 5,356 confirmed cases and 177 deaths. Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health has developed a preparedness plan for COVID-19, including active surveillance at points of entry, in-country diagnostic capacity at the national reference laboratory, and designated isolation and treatment centers. WHO and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are providing technical support and closely monitoring the situation in Cameroon. The Department of State has issued a Global Level 4 Health Advisory advising U.S. citizens to reconsider travel abroad due to the global impact of COVID-19. Entry and Exit Requirements The Cameroonian Prime Minister has announced that as of March 18 all land, sea, and air borders are closed until further announcement due to COVID-19.
