November 11-12, 2020. Typhoon Ulysses ravaged much of Luzon. Typhoon Ulysses (international name VVanco is the twenty-first tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Ulysses was formed within the Philippine Area of Responsibility on November 8, 2020. The then low-pressure area (LPA) became a tropical depression that day. November 9, Tropical Storm raised the category of Ulysses. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. has also been raised. 1 in some parts of the Bicol region. November 10, Signal No. was raised. 1 in Metro Manila.
Tropical Storm Ulysses grew rapidly. Yesterday, November 11, Signal No. was raised. 3 throughout Metro Manila. As of 11:00 PM on November 11, 2020, at the height of Typhoon Ulysses in Luzon, its wind speed reached 150 km / h and a gust of 205 km/hr.
Parts of Luzon were quickly flooded due to the rain caused by Ulysses the recent rains. Power and signals were also lost in some parts of Luzon. The amount of rain that Ulysses poured reached 153 mm. Due to the rain caused, some dams in Luzon such as Angat and Bustos Dam in Bulacan, Binga and Ambuklao Dam in Benguet, and Magat Dam in Isabela released water.
Typhoon #UlyssesPH also landed three times. The first landfall took place in Patnanugan, Quezon at 10:30 P.M., November 11. The second was in Bordeaux, Quezon, 11:20 P.M. of November 11, and the third and final landfall was in General Nakar, Quezon at 1:40 A.M. of November 12.
