The mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto has been one of the most discussed and debated figures in technology, with many people trying to identify the inventor of Bitcoin. And while we may never know for sure who he is, there are some pretty compelling theories that have been circulating...

The Japanese Theory:

Within a day of his identity being revealed, many people speculated that Satoshi Nakamoto was actually a Japanese man by the name of Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto. His surname means "Central Intelligence", and his birth date (April 5th) is "5/4/1975," which is close to April 4th in Japan ("4/5"), when Americans would write it as "9/4. And if that's not enough, he literally wrote a paper on peer-to-peer systems, which is what Bitcoin is.

The Israeli Theory:

Israeli coder and businessman Dor Konforty claim that he has "a couple of degrees of separation" with the founder of bitcoin. He also claims that Satoshi Nakamoto owns several bitcoins in a trust fund worth $100 million dollars. On top of all this, Dor says that he and Satoshi met at a conference in Tel Aviv back in 2013. His reasoning for why it wasn't revealed to the public then is that there were huge security risks regarding the fact that Bitcoin was being run by an anonymous figure, as stated on his LinkedIn profile (which can be found here).

The Finnish Theory:

Finland's Central Bank has denied the existence of Satoshi Nakamoto but that hasn't stopped theorists saying that he might actually be Finnish. It has been suggested that Satoshi might actually be a person by the name of Michael Clear, who is a cryptographer and digital cash specialist. He graduated with a master's in pure mathematics from Trinity College, Dublin, and has previously worked as a financial cryptography consultant for Allied Irish Banks.

The University of Helsinki released a paper analyzing the link between Syker and Bitcoin in late 2015 (and can be found here). However, there still is no conclusive evidence regarding this theory.

Evan Duffield:

The name "Evan Duffield" sounds very much like Satoshi Nakamoto. However, in order to find out who Evan really is, we'd have to dig deep into the history of the internet and its revolution, the history of cryptography, and his first ventures into the world of mining. Needless to say, there are many parallels here with Satoshi Nakamoto's first ventures into using computers for math equations and mining for Bitcoin-related currencies.

If you want to go even deeper, he also has a company called ShadowCash (not a fork of Bitcoin) in which they use completely different cryptography from Bitcoin which is known as RPOW (Replaceable Proof-of-Work).

Elon Musk:

In recent times, many are speculating Elon Musk is the Satoshi Nakamoto. As we all know he is currently the world's richest man with a net worth of more than $185 billion. This is not possible if it weren't for his vast imagination and support to dynamic progression of not just in the advancement of technology but also in finance all over the world. His words are currently the scriptures of the Financial Industry, specifically the cryptocurrency aspect. So does that mean this would qualify him as the real Satoshi Nakamoto?

Many speculations are circulating both online and offline. But the truth remains hidden, for now, we are left with conspiracy theories and gossips. But the secret behind the identity of the real Satoshi Nakamoto remains the same to everyone... Blur, confidential, a shadow hidden in the depths of the trading industry's "Bermuda triangle". The question remains the same...
