There are some things that bode well for United though and journalist Sam Pilger claims they have already agreed personal terms with the player and found a solution for agent fees.
He tweeted: "Jadon Sancho to #MUFC: Personal terms agreed, agent fees agreed. Now all comes down to whether United can make an offer that satisfies Dortmund in the next 48 hours. They are trying."
It now means with less than 48 hours to go, United could still get a deal over the line if they reached an agreement over a fee with Dortmund.
The player would still have to pass his medical and sign his contract but that could be conducted in a matter of hours, even as late as deadline day
