What’s the Rush for?
I will start up today by apologising for my absence throughout yesterday. Well, it was as a result of being on transit yesterday so I could have a better network to access the platform. Please, don’t feel so bad that I was unable to read, comment or tip your various posts. I will try my best to do so today irrespective of my numerous tasks. Before I go into the business of the day, I will like to ask you a question just to be sure you are following the trend of the day. How is your valentine celebration going? You do not need to answer this question because I asked you rather you should answer it because you understand what the season is all about. Let’s go into the business of the day.
Do you understand what you are celebrating?
I was moved to talk about this today because I have noticed over time that a lot of people do not understand what they are doing as regards Valentine or what we call lovers day. Well, I will not waste time with the history of this feast but I will want you to carefully evaluate what you have done or the things you will do today in other to understand if it portrays love. We have gotten it all missed up with the frenzy that lovers day is for only does in relationships. That is a very wrong notion for anyone to have when it comes to Valentine’s Day celebrations. I have read a couple of posts where people are talking about not having anyone date to celebrate valentine with and each time I read about this in a post I just feel like we are missing the real essence of Val. It is called lovers day because it is a day set aside for love and people to share the love with others. It is not just a day for those who are dating or in a relationship it is for everyone out there especially those who we are better than.
What will you gain if you don’t spread love to even those that you are not in a relationship? It is crazy the way we think of lover’s day as a day meant for only those we love. What about those beggars, homeless and those who a left in the homes for the elderly, who show love to them? We live in a world where everyone is meant to live a life of love not waiting for a particular day to come before doing so. True love doesn’t come when we share the love with just the ones we love rather it comes when we share the love with those who we are better than. Don’t feel you are doing it rightly by spending only on those you love or are in a relationship with. Remember that we are all here for ourselves therefore the valentine celebration will not be complete if we do not make an effort to spread love to those who need it the more. I am not in any way saying you should not show love to those you are in a relationship with rather there should also be a conscious effort to go beyond them.
I planned to make this post as simple as possible because I believe we all know and understand what I have said in the above paragraphs but before I end it, I will want to use this ample opportunity to wish all my beautiful and handsome friends a great Valentine’s Day celebration. You are the reason why I write every day and I am so happy to have you all as my friends. I love you all from my heart. I may not be able to gift every single one of you but I know that God will always take care of you and everything that concerns you. Please take a minute to think about those less privileged around your community and see if you could help in any way. Thank you all for being true and lovely friends, I love you all from the depth of my heart. Have a beautiful Valentine’s Day celebration.
Davinchysax Loves you.
Right from when I got to know a day like Valentine, I noticed that a lot of people are getting it wrong as you said. Love isn't on February 14 but can be found in John 3:16. Most people things that it's about engaging in sexual activities and all when there's more.
