In the world of football getting a second chance at scoring a goal is always as hard as anything one can think, this is why every player who gets the chance to score a goal tries so hard not to miss it and if for any reason the goal is missed, the player, his teammates and even the coach will not be happy for such miss. This goes a long way to show that one should not always bank on a second chance when it comes to the issue of life. Can you imagine a doctor not doing his best to make sure that the patient survives just because he is hoping that there will be a second chance? We all know that life is not duplicate and from the time I was born till now, I have never seen or heard of a person certified dead come back to life even though we hear such stories in our churches but I believe that once death happens, there is no second chance.
Since we understand this common principle of life, why then do we always bank on getting a second chance? I have seen a situation where a romantic relationship crashed because one of the partners did not play his/her part well because he/she believed that there will be another chance towards showing their level of affection. This has ruined a lot of relationships which could have led to a great and sweet ending. It is not just seen in relationships alone, it runs through all the activities we do in life consciously or unconsciously.
What happens when we get into a business deal with another person, do we see it as our only chance or do we have the notion that another business opportunity will come which will make us not give in our best? A lot of people have lost their one time chance towards making it in life because they held onto the idea that another chance will be giving to them. As a businessman, you must see every business opportunity as your one time chance in that way you will put in everything necessary to make it work irrespective of the situation surrounding the business.
I have seen a lot of people who go for an audition with the mindset that they will have such an opportunity again therefore they can just try instead of giving it all that they have. This set of people will keep going from one audition to another because they have not understood what it takes to be a winner in life. The difference between the winner and the loser is nothing but attitude.
The attitude of the winner is basically to win irrespective of the obstacle that may come his way. Take for instance the great sprinter Usain Bolt, the great Nigerian born football legend J.J. Okocha, C. Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and all the other great men and women of the sporting world, you will notice that they all have one thing in common which is Attitude to the game. These man and women approach the game with the mindset of outshining others not minding who the opponent might be.
It is not just about having the attitude it is always about going the extra mile to get you prepared for the game ahead. It is a well-known fact that C. Ronaldo gives himself some extra hours of practice and it is in this period that he learns his tricks just to make sure that his opponent does not get any hint of what he is going to do. If all these great men and women were hoping to have a second chance to what they do, I bet you, they would not be known for the tricks and wonders they perform in the sporting world.
Are you still living a life of second chance hoping that if you did not get it right today probably you will get it right tomorrow? Let me inform you that once you give in without pushing yourself to the breakpoint you will end up hoping and expecting it to be better tomorrow, you and I know that tomorrow never ends. Instead of counting on a second chance which you may not get why not put in your best in the one you have been giving at the moment just in case you don’t get have the second chance.
When you set out to go for job hunting, do you prepare yourself very well or do you just go out there hoping to get another opportunity if you miss it that day? for you to survive in the world, you must be ready to go that extra mile by way of giving it all you’ve got whenever you are giving that opportunity to shine. Stop hoping for a second chance you might not be able to get instead work hard to show that you are equal to the task which you have been giving. The truth is, most times we forget that when we get hungry for something it propels us to do the extra thing even though we may not get it at that moment but we will be pushed to give our all.
Do not forget that life itself does not support a second chance and do not fill your mind with the thought of getting a second chance if you fail rather tell yourself that this is your only chance towards winning and I bet you, you will come out a winner. Remember, the attitude must be right at all times before hard work can make you the winner. Be the best you can at all times, never settle for less. A winner is not born rather a winner is made.
In this life if you made mistakes that harm other people, there's no second chance to fix all the mistakes you've done because it was already happened.
