My Writing is my Business
Have you ever had a second thought towards what you write daily and you looked at yourself from head to toe and beat your chest in the assurance that you are doing great? You may not understand that writing is not just about putting pen and paper to work or hitting the keypads of your mobile phone or laptop just to write. The very first step towards writing and maintaining good writing skills is by being intentional about what you write. Most people just take writing to be a second option or they see it as leisure or something they do for the fun of it. The truth is that you must first enjoy writing before it will begin to flow from within. You cannot see it as a herculean task and expect it to flow just the way you would want it. I learnt very early about these secrets and this is why I do not find it hard to write even on things I do not have much information about. The only thing needed at all times is for me to do my research well before writing any new or foreign topic. The very first question I will ask you is; have you made writing your business? The reason you must answer this question is for you to have a high level of commitment towards writing. I have seen and heard some writers say that they do not know what to write. Well, you have to understand that once you make writing your business you will always have your way through writing anything every day.
First Rule of the Business
For every business to succeed you must first be ready to know what works at all times. This is where the question comes; what is your passion? First, for you to succeed in this field you must look at yourself thoroughly to know whether you have a passion for writing. Most times we just jump into something because we heard of the gains one can make and by the time we head into it and meet challenges, we see ourselves not living up to expectations. Whatever you do as a person, you must be ready to allow your passion to flow into it thereby giving you a lead way towards everything and anything you do. We have just discussed the first rule of the business which is Passion.
Second Rule of the Business
You must be committed to writing if you wish to do well. Commitment is the key that unlocks every idea you could ever imagine when it comes to writing. It may look less important to you in the beginning but as you go deep into writing, you will begin to understand that your level of commitment is all that matters. Although I understand that most times we are faced with unforeseen circumstances which may pose a strong challenge towards the actualization of our daily writing goals, that notwithstanding, we must allow our commitment level to grow alongside our writing passion.
What to write
You must not forget that this is a very important rule and you must be careful to keep it in all that you do. The next rule I want to talk about is this; the rule of what to write and the audience to write for. Knowing what to write is the very first thing to do as a writer but you must not forget that the audience to which you want to reach out is important. I learnt as a writer that my audience is very much important when it comes to writing because the essence of spending hours on a particular article is because you want to reach out to your audience with a particular message. No writer will be happy not to have people read his/her article. If you wish to reach out to the crypto community as a writer, you must make a very serious effort by focusing your article on cryptocurrency-related matters. This is because you have a targeted audience you wish to satisfy. In any case, where you are more of a storyteller, you should focus your energy on writing good stories that can captivate your audience from the first paragraph to the last one.
Conclusion
Whatever you do as a writer, you must have the ability to look at things differently, and this is the hidden secret of writing. No true writer sees just the beautiful feathers of a peacock. A writer will always see beyond what the physical eyes will see because that is where the power of writing comes from. Give a writer a cup of water and he will give you a story. This is not the time to say that you can or cannot write rather, try as much as you can to improve with your writing because that is what separates you from the others. In all that you do, do not forget the rules of the business. Make writing your business and see yourself soar higher.
