For the lovers of action games, you must have played the game call of duty. It is not just any game you will play without putting more effort at making the right decision at every particular time. It is a game that demands your full attention because you are not just playing for survival rather; you are playing for the success of the mission and completion of the given assignment. The first time I played the game, I was astounded with the graphics and the effects which bring the game to life. It was an experience I will never always want to have again. Lol… I can’t play games now not because I have grown, but it is because I barely have time for myself due to work. Most times we end up in a place where we are given a lot of responsibility either at work or in the family. It is not about the work or responsibility, but it is about how we can do our best at achieving the desired result. Let us take a look at the family. Before a man will decide to go into marriage, he must have looked at himself very to ascertain that he will be able to handle the issues of family i.e. taking care of the family financially, morally and otherwise. Now, he does not go into marriage just because he sees himself as one who has come of age rather he must make sure to understand and know if he is ready for the journey ahead of him.
This is not just for the man alone, the lady who has seen herself as someone who has come of age to marry must do that not by looking at her age but by looking at her mindset and the ability to carry out the job of a mother at all cost. The journey of pregnancy is enough to change a woman’s good heart into something everyone will abhor if she has not made up her mind to go into marriage. Now let us look at the family in the light of the game call of duty. In the game, an objective is given by the commander to the soldier who goes all in making sure that he completes his mission even when he encounters any an obstacle, he fights so hard to surmount it. In the family, the man of the house is like the soldier who the commander (God) has given an objective to carry out without any form of complaint. When the man accepts this to go on this mission, he will start by looking for money to establish himself after which he will go in search of a woman to marry.
When a man finds a woman to marry, he will do everything within his power to make sure that the marriage celebration goes as planned. After the marriage, he takes up the responsibility of taking care of his wife at all cost without any complaint. When children start coming, he will double his effort because the responsibility has increased. Even when he is not all that strong physically, the man may find it difficult to just lie down in the house without doing anything. He continues with his mission till the day his maker will call him to the great beyond. Now form the game, the soldier will fight till death if need be and will gladly give his life to make sure that the mission is completed. The man, on the other hand, gives in everything he is made of because he understands that the responsibility given to him is paramount and this will make him to gladly give his life to make sure that his family is taking care of.
Let us look at it from the side of our daily dealings as individuals. Do you see that job or work that you do as something you are being forced to do? If your answer is yes then you must have to rethink because any job or work we do with unhappiness will certainly look stressful at all times. You must be able to approach that job or work as a soldier who has been called for duty. A soldier does not choose where is going to be deployed or how when he will get there. He accepts the call without any form of complaint irrespective of the circumstances surrounding the call. We owe it to ourselves as individuals to see the life we live as a call of duty. You did not come to earth by chance, you were created for a purpose and that purpose is your duty on earth which you must carry out with every atom of strength and power you have.
The call of duty is one of diligence and dignity of labour at all times just as we see in the game. The soldier must exhibit loyalty, courage and trust because, without these three, the duty may become very hard for him to do. We must try as much as possible to exhibit courage, loyalty and trust at every point in our life because the call we have answered is a call of duty and responsibility. Let wisdom guide your steps.
