From time immemorial, there has been modification which has taken place on the bottle either in shape, length or in size. In all of these changes that have occurred on the bottle, one particular attribute or feature still stands out till date. The neck of the bottle is always shaped in a way that makes it impossible for one to either pass his fingers or his entire hand down the bottom of the bottle. This I believe was done as a way to prevent easy passage for anything other than the content which it was meant for and more so it was done to give the bottle a perfect shape. There is one thing about the bottleneck that has always intrigued me when it comes to its aesthetic nature, that thing is that the bottle does not start right from the bottom of the bottle rather it starts from a particular place and ends at the top where the cork or bottle cover is placed. I am a deep thinker when it comes to life and the way we relate to issues happening around us. I decided to start this write up with the little analysis of a bottle but for a better understanding of the intent and why the analysis was made, I will like to go straight the reason behind it all.
Let us look at life as a bottle. One thing you will understand is that a bottle comes in form of breakable and plastic or what we call robber bottle. In all of these, each of the forms of the bottle comes with a bottleneck which is distinct to it including its size. Now, have you wondered why we are made differently in life, ranging from our colour difference to our different body sizes and heights? In all our different features one thing is common within us and that thing is; we all face challenges just like the way all the bottles have a bottleneck. The main thing we must understand from this article is that the bottleneck of life which is its challenges does not end till we die. The bottleneck runs from one particular level of the bottle till it stops at the top where the cork or cover of the bottle is placed. This is also seen in life, the challenges we face start from a particular time in our lives and ends right in death. When we are faced with one challenge or the other, we do not fight with the intention that after solving those challenges that we will not meet another in our lives journey.
We must understand that life itself is a huge challenge right from the time of conception. Before a baby is conceived, it must win the race to be the first to meet the egg of the woman which is the ultimate price and consolation. When he eventually survives the hot race and becomes the winner, it will have to fight very hard again to survive nine months of formation coiled inside a sack in the belly of the woman. The moment he steps out into the real world, he begins to understand that life is not but challenge and race to survival. We are all here fighting and stepping on each other’s toes just to make sure that we survive in life and it is only an ignorant person who does not understand that life is a battle. Once we begin to develop the mind of our own, the race continues. We start at trying to be like others in terms of how they walk and talk just as we see in babies trying to crawl, stand and possibly walk whenever they see other babies doing so.
The fight does not end there. The moment we feel like we are of age, we begin to clamour for the wonderful things of life ranging from getting a nice apartment of our own, a good job to take care of our needs, a life partner and even a good car. In all of these, life’s bottleneck is evident and always present in our life which is why we see ourselves going out of our way to meet up with its demands not minding most times how we achieve it. The challenges we face in life are so numerous and ever-present that most times we end up seeing it as a normal thing thus living like it does not matter anymore. The truth is, we must make a conscious effort to accept the fact that challenges are part of life and if the moment we begin to see it in that way, the better we will become at solving it. The bottle cannot separate itself from the neck because without the neck, the bottle is not complete in its form. We cannot separate challenges from life rather we can only look at it holistically for a better understanding.
